Maserati 4200GT by Prior Design

Maserati 4200GT by Prior Design

The Maserati Coupé, also known as the 4200GT, was one of the exotic Italian sports car builders premium power houses built between 2002 and 2007. So even if the screaming 390 HP Maserati two door has been out of production for a few years now. it is never too late to give it a fresh new look, and that is exactly what the high end German tuning firm Prior Design had on their minds when they came out with this all new aero package that consists of a new front bumper priced at 1400 euro, an equally as expensive rear unit with integrated diffuser and a set of lower hanging side skirts priced at 900 euro to complete the down force enhancing ground effects package. Add to it a set of Prior Design’s five spoke alloys and some fancy orange accents and you have one very stylish Maserati, even if they did leave the high revving 32 Valve V8 untouched.

2010 Maserati GranTurismo S MC Sport Line

Maserati GranTurismo S MC Sport Line

The exotic Italian automaker Maserati has just unveiled a new special edition GranTurismo S intended for the Middle East market just outside the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. The limited edition GranTurismo is inspired by the sports car maker’s racing division, Maserati Corse, which is one reason for all the carbon fiber that went into the build. There will only be 12 examples of the white ice sports coupe, and they are all destined for the oil rich region where all three contiguous eastern continents join together.

There is some significance to the number 12, not only is the exact number of FIA GT world titles that Maerati has accumulated over the past few years as well as the number of locations that buyers will be able to pick up their GranTurismo S MC Sport Line when it goes on sale. In an attempt not to alienate their home market in Italy, Maserati will also release a limited number of MC Sport Line models finished in matte Bianco Fuji pearl along with all of the carbon fiber accents that make the Middle East version so special.

Hear it roar: The Maserati GranCabrio Experience

Ask any real piston-head who lives and breathes grease oil and they’ll tell you that there’s no more invigorating, satisfying, and relaxing sound than the monstrous roar of an unbridled V8 engine piercing the road.

Ok, maybe there’s also the sound of hoots and whistles from people who wish they had your ride. That’s a pretty awesome thing to hear too.

But even that is a distant second to hearing something along the lines of a 2011 V8 Maserati GranCabrio in all its uninhibited glory.

Close your eyes and listen. It’s music to our ears.

Maserati at the 2009 South Florida International Auto Show

Maserati at the 2009 South Florida International Auto Show

The exotic Italian automaker Maserati was well represented in the Collection’s corner of the 2009 Miami Auto Show. Offering up high performance transportation solutions in both two and four door variants. Starting off with a beautiful white Quattroporte sport sedan powered by a 400 HP V8 that accelerates the luxury sedan from 0 to 60 MPH in just 5.5 seconds. The high end luxury car retailers also had a pair of sporty Gran Turismo coupes flanking the more accommodating Maserati. Not only was there the standard version of the sharp nosed sports car, but also a high performance Gran Turismo S that makes use of a 440 HP 4.7 Liter screaming V8 to go along with the Italian sports car’s sleek body style.

Maserati drives debutantes to Queen Charlotte’s Ball

Maserati drives debutantes to Queen Charlotte's Ball

No it’s not a horse-drawn carriage like the ones we’ve come to know in fairy tales, but we’re hedging our bets that these gorgeous debutantes had no problem being chauffer driven in a Maserati Quattroporte.

The young debutantes had the time of their lives, not just by getting a chance to ride a Quattroportes, but they were also decked from head to toe with some of the world’s most expensive jewelries. On top of that, the ladies were also greeted at the ball by no less than a few women who know a thing or two about royalty: HRH Princess Katarina of Yugoslavia, HH Princess Olga Romanov and Their Graces The Duke and Duchess of Somerset. As far as the Maserattis were concerned, the luxury car brand was the official entourage vehicle of the Queen Charlotte’s Ball. Apart from its duties as entourage vehicle, Maseratti also took advantage of the occasion by auctioning off an all-new 2010 Maserati GranCabrio.

The event, which was founded over 250 years ago to raise fund for mothers and babies, was supported by Maserati GB together with its London distributor, HR Owen Sports Cars, in an attempt to raise donations to the Wolfston and Weston Research Centre for Family Health at the Hammersmith and Queen Charlotte’s Hospital site of Imperial College London. The event was able to raise £60,000 for the hospital where the money would be put to use to help further develop research of premature birth, miscarriage, and infertility among mothers and all women alike. Here at TopSpeed, we appreciate a noble deed when we see one and Maserati’s involved at such a worthy cause will not go unnoticed. Good work, gentlemen.

Maserati set to unveil GranCabrio sports car at the Frankfurt Motor Show

Maserati set to unveil GranCabrio sports car at the Frankfurt Motor Show

Just when the list of vehicles set to make their debuts at the Frankfurt Motor Show isn’t mouth-watering enough, Maserati is joining the party with the introduction of the GranCabrio.

It took a while for Maserati to finish tweaking the car – a couple of years, in fact – but the wait should be worth it. The car is expected to roll out of the production and into dealerships sometime in March of 2010. In the meantime, fans of the Italian marquee should all look forward to Frankfurt to catch the first glimpse of the GranCabrio in person.

The GranCabrio is expected to come with a more powerful engine than its predecessor, the GranTurismo S, thanks in large part to the 4.7-liter V8 engine housed under its hood, capable of producing speeds of as much as 433bhp at 7000rpm and 362lb ft at 4750rpm.

Video: The most beautiful Maserati garage ever

Architectural Digest recently held a "Design Driven" contest to find the most unique existing garage in America, the best place to celebrate and observe the automobile. Well contest Winner, Holger Schubert had already prepared a similar space for his Maserati Granturismo. He was looking for a place where the Italian sports car can be viewed as the piece of art that it truly is. There is even a clever hydraulic ramp that allows the car to back out without turning the engine over, who would want those nasty fumes in such a nice space anyway.
