After almost eight years of production, the highly successful Mazda RX-8 will be reinvented in a completely new model. The original 2+2 doors coupe is expected to come with an all-new skin and refreshed “Zoom-Zoom” design in 2009. The dynamics are guaranteed to be better than ever for an RX model, featuring the latest generation of Mazda’s exotic Wankel rotary engine.

Zoom…Zoom…Zoom. I have often felt that the people behind that famous phrase were geniuses. After all, it perfectly sums up Mazda’s emphasis on sporty fun, which the company seems to build into every vehicle that they make. This is particularly true of their 2006 Mazda RX8.

Mazda Motor Corporation has upgraded its four-door, four-seat, rotary engine-equipped RX-8 sports car, which is to be sold at Mazda and Mazda Anfini dealers throughout Japan. Mazda is commencing sales of the 5-speed and 6-speed manual transmission models and accepting orders for the new 6-speed automatic transmission (AT) version from today. The 6-speed AT RX-8 goes on sale in mid-October 2006.

Mazda Motor Corporation will show the Mazda RX Mazda RX -8 Hydrogen RE at the ONS2006, an energy exhibition and conference held in Stavanger, Norway, starting from August 22. Mazda will utilize the opening of Norway’s first hydrogen filling station near Stavanger for the first on-road showing of the vehicle outside Japan. Mazda and Spacedog will announce the world debut of the first book in the Revved series of graphic novels at this year’s Comic-Con International – home of North America’s largest comic book and multi-genre convention – in San Diego, CA.
