There's nothing like special-edition MX-5->ke1185s, but in the U.S., we so rarely get a crack at them. Another non-U.S.-bound, special-edition->ke2041 MX-5 is this Sport Venture model -- this model will also be available on Mazda5->ke1428 and Mazda2->ke2501.

The Mazda->ke53 MX-5 Sport Venture starts off with your choice of two all-new colors -- Titanium Flash and Chrystal Blue Mica -- bright-silver mirrors, bright alloy wheels and exterior badges.

On the inside, this special model gets a high-performance navigation system with a 6.1-inch display screen and Bluetooth connectivity to help set it apart from the rest of the MX-5 lineup. It also includes a stone leather interior with heated sport seats.

Under the hood, the MX-5 Sport Venture is available with a 1.8-liter four-pot with 126 PS (124 horsepower) in its soft-top and hard-top variants, or an optional 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 160 PS (158 horsepower) in the hard-top model. Sure, that's not a ton of power, but the MX-5 never has been about raw power.

The price for this special-edition MX-5 starts at £18,995 ($31,170 at the current exchange rates).

2014 Mazda MX-5

I own a Miata, have driven plenty of them and got a crack at the newest MX-5 Club version just a few weeks ago. In all honesty, you cannot go wrong with the MX-5 is you are looking for a car that connects you to the road. While other cars continue to add new electronics to keep you on the track, the MX-5 remains as analog as you can get in a modern roadster.

With its 167-horsepower, four-cylinder engine, the 2014 MX-5 can hit 60 mph in around 6.8 seconds, though its low ride makes it feel much faster. Additionally, its point-and-go agility really makes you feel comfortable zipping down a windy mountain road.
