2011 McLaren MP4-12C ’Chrome’

  Review

A lot is being made about McLaren and the launch of their new dealership network - the first showroom being at One Hyde Park in London. However, while the star-studded event drew some very important people, most notably F1 drivers Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton, and McLaren CEO Ron Dennis, one car that was displayed at the event caught the most of our attention. It was a McLaren MP4-12C, except that it wasn’t just any other MP4-12C. This bad boy was dressed up in chrome.

We don’t know if this shiny piece of McLaren goodness is a special edition model or maybe even just a one-off that’s going to be auctioned sometime down the road, but it sure looks more delicious than just about any MP4-12C we’ve ever seen.

Add that to the fact that it also carries quite a powertrain under its hood, one that features a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing a mouth-watering 592 horsepower at 7,000rpm and 443 lb/ft of torque between 3,000 and 7,000rpm, and you’ve got a truly one-of-a-kind MP4-12C.

So in the event any McLaren big wig reads our site, consider this an appeal to make this chrome MP4-12C a special edition model. Now it might be hard considering that all MP4-12C models are already sold out for the next three years, but hey, we can dream, right?

Nowadays, its now more harder to know which car is efficient and which is not. Specially when it is bound into comparison and both have exceptional and uniqueness.

It seems that the 12C has been an instant celebrity! Well, with the awesomeness of this car in both styling and performance I really don’t ask why.

Yeah, What’s the next plan of the Mclaren for this vehicle after 3 years? Are they planning to make an aftermarket version for this vehicle? I wonder what would its engine performance.

This one actually looks a bit like the Audi R8 Spyder that they donated to Elton John’s foundation. But I would love this one more, since the chrome isn’t all that shiny.

Knowing that this beautiful McLaren MP4 12-C is sold out for the next 3 years, I doubt that this Chrome version is planned to released. If they try to release a more beautiful and good looking car like that, I think it would be again sold out for maybe 5 years.

Yeah, me too, I would like to see more of this one. I just love those lights, they really add more to the feel of the car. Just hope that McLaren displays this baby more.

This one is probably just a one off, that is the usual case with these custom builds. But I would say that I want to see more of it, especially those blue head lights.

I must admit that I am not really into the chrome look that much, but I would say that this guys is certainly a stunner. Just love how they achieved the look on this one.

Wow! It seems that the 12C will be line up with the high end supercar like the Italia that is already sold out for almost three years.. BTW, it makes me wonder if this car would be available in aftermarket version.
