It may be a little early to be thinking about Christmas, but it looks like some people are already preparing for the holiday anyway. Case in point,McLaren->ke284, which just announced that this special edition MP4-12C Spider will be featured in the famous Neiman Marcus 2012 Christmas Book.
This special McLaren MP4-12C Spider is painted in a Volcano Red to keep that Christmas spirit alive. It will be offered with limited-edition features, such as a McLaren luggage set. The buyers will also receive a business-class trip to England for a VIP dinner with McLaren Chairman Ron Dennis and a tour of the McLaren Technology Center.
As far as power, the special edition will be provided with a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers 616 HP at 7500 rpm and 442 lbs-ft of torque between 3000-7000 rpm. Top speed will still come in at 204 mph.
The Neiman Marcus Christmas Book features models not currently offered on the US market, but when the McLaren MP4-12C Spyder does go on sale in December, it will be priced at $268,250. This is considerably less than the $354,000 price tag associated with the model featured by Neiman Marcus. However, Neiman Marcus announced that, for each sale, they will donate $3,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters. That's a total of $36,000 when you consider that McLaren will be building 12 units. If anyone is interested, they can place their order on October 24th, 2012.
Updated 10/26/2012: On October 24th, Neiman Marcus started to accept orders for the special edition McLaren MP4-12C Spider. But if you wanted to buy one you won't have the chance anymore, as all 12 units have been sold in just two hours, despite the car's relatively high price.
