Tecnocraft has one of the most impressive tuning packages: at the end of 2010 they tuned the Lamborghini Gallardo and a few months earlier the Bentley Continental Supersports. And now is time for the Mercedes C63 AMG. While there are no details on the engine’s update, the exterior and the interior changes are impressive.
For the exterior Tecnocraft added new front fenders and added a splitter under the custom front bumper. Painted in an impressive gray exterior color, the C63 sits on new ADV.1 Wheels. The interior looks as impressive as the exterior: the seats are entirely made in carbon fiber, and any fabric or leather has been removed.
We do not know if the engine has also been updated, but from standard the V8 delivers a total of 487 HP and this is more than enough for any sports sedan. Either way this is a very impressive tuning package!
In its 125 years of history, 2011 will be the first year when Mercedes will be unveiling their first Super Bowl commercial. And the first 60 seconds sports reveals great things: the SLS AMG Roadster and the C-Class Coupe. But the two models aren’t at all the only great things presented in the commercial. In fact just by watching it you will fee like in a Mercedes heaven with lots of cool models.
The Mercedes SLS AMG roadster version will be powered by a 6.3-liter V8 engine with 563 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. However, being a much heavier model, it will rocket from 0 to 60mph in 4.0 seconds before topping out at approximately 192 mph. The C-Class coupe will be offered with the same engine line-up as its sedan brother and will go on sale later this year.
While Mercedes was busy revealing the official details on the C63 AMG sedan, its testing engineers were pretty busy working on the C55 AMG Coupe, the most powerful version of the recently launched C-Class coupe.
Besides the fact that it will be a coupe model, the first thing we noticed about the future AMG model was the name: 55. This means that, unlike its sedan brother, the C55 AMG Coupe will use the same twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine that has been used for the CLS63 AMG. As for the output, expect to see something near 420 HP.
The jury’s still out on when this new model will be launched, but since the C-Class Coupe version will be making its world debut in March 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show, we expect to see the AMG version sometime next year.

Mercedes has already released the first official details for the 2012 C-Class model, so it seems fitting that the first details and images of the new AMG version have popped up on the web. The new model is expected to go on sale by the summer of 2011. Like with the standard C-Class, the AMG version has also received an updated exterior and interior, but the engine will remain faithful to the C63 AMG packaging.
The exterior gets redesigned bumpers, slimmer headlights with LED lights, revised mirrors, and a new grille with one horizontal bar instead of two, as found in the SLS AMG. There is also a new set of sportier wheels, chrome elements, and an AMG logo in order to differentiate it from the standard C-Class. A sporty exhaust system with four end pipes has also been added to the back oft he vehicle.
Update 02/01/2011: Official details for the Mercedes have finally been revealed, but since they were leaked on the internet a few days ago, we already have most of them. What we didn’t have though are the images and the European prices! While Americans are making their way along the Detroit Auto Show floor, Canadians are also taking part of a show of their own: the Montreal International Auto Show. It was here that Mercedes decided to appropriately displayed the C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition, a special edition specially created for the Canadian market. There will be only 30 units built of this model, each priced at $81,500 (or around $82,360 USD).
This special edition not only features unique styling cues, but it also has an impressive list of special equipment that have never before been offered on a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. It comes painted in MAGNO Allanite Grey and will be distinguished by high-performance AMG brakes with red calipers, 19" AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels in black, carbon-fiber mirror housings, and a rear lip spoiler.
The Mercedes C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition will be offered with the AMG Premium Package that adds an extra 30 HP and removes the speed limiter. Looks pretty cool, but we’re just having trouble pronouncing its name!

Before the Mercedes SLS AMG came out and wowed us with its awesome gullwing design, a lot of people had little idea that the German automaker played with that design in the past and, while some saw the light of the production block, others weren’t as lucky.
One such design, considered today as the ‘Forgotten Gullwing’, is the Mercedes C111, a car that was universally lauded back in the day for its revolutionary Wankel diesel engine. Despite the number of prototypes that were made, the C111 never became a production model and soon thereafter, it was lost in the yard of discarded concept models, never to be heard from again.
That is until Arturo Alonso, the owner of GWA Tuning, decided to bring its spirit back. Feeling that a concept so iconic should be given its just due, Alonso and his team at GWA Tuning went out and took design elements from the C111 and incorporated modern changes into it to create a one-off machinery they appropriately called the “Ciento Once”.

Out of the all year-end lists we compiled, picking the top sedan of the year was quite honestly the most difficult of them all.
First of all, the choices are limitless compared to the other segments. Second of all, 2010 has been characterized as a year when sedans - be it entry level ones or luxury types - have become as popular as ever. And lastly, picking one over another has become a matter of preference - and to a certain extent, budget constraints.
For our list, we’ve narrowed it down to five models, all of which are worthy of being hailed as 2010’s top sedan. In this list, three are of German descent, one is of Japanese origin, while the other is British-born. From our hints, you can probably surmise which models made it, but for the sake of suspense, we’re not going to spoil anything.
Head over after the jump for the full details.

Anyone who is having a difficult time deciding which future vehicle to choose from - the C-Class Coupe, the BMW 3-Series Coupe, or the Audi A5 - may get a push in the right direction with this latest bit of news coming out of the luxury child of Daimler. Mercedes is giving everyone a chance to own their 2012 C-Class Coupe without paying a dime for it.
In a marketing strategy fit to conquer all, Mercedes is hosting a contest called the "Mercedes-Benz Tweet Race", a contest similar to the one done by Jeep earlier this year. However, at the end of this contest, two winners will be chosen to take home the brand new coupe model, and - yes there’s more - some Super Bowl XLV tickets. Mercedes sure does know the way to our hearts.
To enter the contest, simply refine your online social skills. Mercedes will choose its eight contestants depending on their Twitter Klout scores and overall social media presence. These eight contestants will then be split up into four teams, who will then have to embark from one of four cities - New York, LA, Chicago, or Tampa - with a pair of Super Bowl tickets and a specially outfitted Mercedes Benz. The first team to reach Dallas will claim their brand new Mercedes C-Class Coupe. Don’t think it will be easy though. Mercedes will also have the team members competing in a series of challenges along the way. It’s kind of like the Amazing Race for Mercedes enthusiasts.
If you are interested in the competition then head on over to the Mercedes Facebook page (provided in the source link) and sign yourself up. It may be the only vehicle you’ll ever get for free.
If you want a car packing some chrome and speed then one of the obvious choices would be the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. Known for its power-packing 6.2L V8 engine producing about 451hp and 443 lb.-ft. of torque, this back-breaker of a machine is no wimp out on the road, but the future Black Series will turn out even more than that.
The Mercedes C-Class AMG Black Edition has already been spotted from the back, but this rendering makes the C63 AMG do an about-face. From this angle we can see the exaggerated wheelarches, carbon fiber vents, deep front splitter, and multi-spoke alloy wheels. Not shown in this photo is the rumored rear diffuser and small bootlip spoiler.
Rumors suggest that this speedier version will feature a 6.3L V8 engine producing about 513hp. The engine will be mated to AMG’s new SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission that offers three different modes: "S" (Sport), " C" (Comfort), and "M" (Manual). Gearshifts in Sport mode are around 30 percent faster than in Comfort, and no less than around 50 percent faster in Manual mode, according to Mercedes.
The Black Division has already brought us tremendous machines in the SL, CLK, and the SLK AMG Black, but this Black Series Edition will look the BMW M3 and the Audi RS4 straight in the face. Bring it on, boys. Bring it on.
