The German tuning house Lorinser has just unveiled a new tuning package for the all new Mercedes Benz E-Class Coupe. Starting off with the exterior, Lorinser has added a rather unique front bumper complete with integrated LED driving lights and matching blue HID bulbs in the new square headlamps as well as a new three bar grill. The new wide body fenders are vented framing a set of 20 inch RS9 lightweight alloy wheels and so are the lower hanging side skirts make the body appear to be lower to the ground. Out back the new E Coupe receives a subtle trunk spoiler as well as on mounted at the back of the roof while the back bumper is dressed up with a new rear apron complete with integrated diffuser to house the high performance stainless steel rear muffler.
This metallic Palladium Silver 2010 E350 is the perfect example of what Mercedes Benz has to offer for their entry level mid size customer who doesn’t want to trade in all the fun stuff that comes with a luxury limousine for the shorter wheelbase. Starting at around $48,000 our E350 came equipped with a sensible power package along with every creature comfort and electronic safety amenity that the German engineers could pack in, this all new redesigned Mercedes E-Class features almost every luxury that Mercedes can offer for around $60,000. With options like KEYLESS GO and DISTRONIC PLUS with PRE-SAFE, Mercedes Benz is sure that new car owners will have more gadgets then they know what to do with and enough to never get bored.
The German automaker Mercedes Benz has given their full size luxury offering a complete makeover for the 2010 model year. Gone are the old E-Class’s round headlamps and oversized wraparound taillights, in their place the Mercedes Benz design team has come up with a set of stretched out illuminated elements both front and back that completely changes the visual appeal of the new car while remaining unmistakably an E-Class. At the same time Mercedes Benz’s marketing department has managed to slash almost $5,000 from the new car’s price tag compared to last year’s model.
Even though the E Class lineup has grown to include everything from coupes and convertibles all the way up to an AMG tuned powerhouse, this 2010 E350 with its 3.5 Liter V6 making 268 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque under the hood; all new light clusters, LED driving lights and stylish 17 inch split five spoke wheels on the outside as well as the supple Ash Leather wrapped massaging driver’s seat and Burl Walnut trim on the inside is the most well rounded of the bunch. Offering a practical four door five passenger layout with plenty of storage space in the trunk, our test car also benefits from being one of the most economical of the group consuming an estimated 18 MPG around town and as much as 26 MPG on the highway. While we might have asked Santa for an E63, this is the 2010 E Class that your mother will most likely be seen in.
The German tuner ATT has added an extra amount of aggression to the all new redesigned 2010 Mercedes E-Class by adding a bit of carbon fiber, a few vents and then virtually stretched out the back end to create a very unique looking Benz and includes everything short of a show stopping wide body kit to make the new E-Class look even more planted. Starting off up front, ATT includes a debadged carbon fiber replacement for the grill, while if you look a little lower the factory bumper is replaced with a new unit made up of larger intakes on either side as well as a pair of very fashionable LED driving lights. The front fenders are replaced with a pair of vented items that lead into a new set of side skirts and trail into the well ventilated rear bumper.
The wide narrow strip of black trim that hovers just above the bottom edge of the new ATT back bumper along with the mental image extending plastic panels at each corner messes with the car’s proportions and makes the entire rear end appear to be shorter then it actually is. The effect accentuates what Mercedes did with the new horizontal taillights allowing the new imaginary line that runs across the bottom of the back bumper to add few inches to the new E’s track. The Modified Mercedes E-Class rides on a set of 20 inch alloys that emphasize the angular theme of the body kit with their split five spoke design. Not to mention that ATT is also ready with an assortment of performance, chassis and interior bits to accommodate their customer’s wishes.
The Mercedes E-Class family is now complete, after a complete restyling for 2010 the last member of the extended lineup has just come to market with the convertible version. The E-Class Convertible’s official debut will come in January 2010 at the Detroit Auto Show, and sales will begin in May 2010. The E-Class Cabrio will be offered with a choice of two engines, a 3.5 Liter V6 that makes 268 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque in the E350 and a 5.5 Liter V8 pumping out 382 HP and 391 lb-ft of torque in the E550.
New technologies for the E-Class Convertible is the AIRCAP automatic draft-stop system that extends a wind deflector 2.4 inches above the to of the windscreen along with a conventional draft stop panel mounted behind the rear seats to create a turbulence free zone inside of the cabin even with the top down at speed. The system can be activated at speeds of up to 100 MPH and will remain functional right up until the cabrio’s top speed.
Besides the new AIRCAP system, the E-Class Cabrio will be offered with all of Mercedes Benz’s latest security systems that include ATTENTION ASSIST drowsiness detection, PRE-SAFE anticipatory occupant protection, Adaptive Highbeam Assist and DISTRONIC PLUS proximity control to make the new E-Class one of the safest convertibles on the road.
