Americans can not get enough of Suv’s and neither can competiting automotive manufacturers. Mercedes is working on a rival for BMW X3’s which will be appropriately labeled the Mercedes Mercedes GLK. This top secret small Suv is being tested in Scandinavia and Germany. When the GLK hits it will also compete with the Audi Q5, Volco XC60 , and VW Tiguan , all which will be competiting against each other for the best small Suv.

We found on Worldscoop site this new image of the 2008 Mercedes GLK-Class, but we can’t tell for sure if this is an official photo or just another photoshop rendering. For the US market the GLK-Class will be available in three trims: the GLK280 V-6 4Matic (228 hp); the GLK350 V-6 4Matic (268 hp); and the GLK320 CDI V-6 4Matic (221 hp). Autobild has published the first undisguised image of the 2008 Mercedes Mercedes GLK-Class, the main competitor of the BMW X3. The GLK-Class will make its world debut at either the 2007 Frankfurt or 2008 Geneva Auto Show. An AMG version is also expected. Mercedes will introduce its first small SUV in 2008 based on the next-generation C-class wagon. The GLK is a four-wheel-drive on-roader and is a competitior for the BMW BMW X3 and Audi Q5. The new GLK will debut in late 2007 and will go on sale at the begining in 2008. It will be buil on the 4Matic-Plattform of the new C-Class. The new GLK will compete directly to the Volkswagen Volkswagen X3 ang Toyota RAV4.
