Mercedes will introduce its first small SUV in 2008 based on the next-generation C-class wagon. The GLK is a four-wheel-drive on-roader and is a competitior for the BMW X3 and Audi Q5. The car will feature all-weather tires, hill-descent control, a mildly raised suspension with skid plates, and some outdoorsy cosmetics but no extra diff locks or a low-range transfer case. Mercedes GLK - new rival for the Volkswagen X3

The new GLK will debut in late 2007 and will go on sale at the begining in 2008. It will be buil on the 4Matic-Plattform of the new C-Class. The new GLK will compete directly to the Volkswagen X3 ang Toyota RAV4.
