There are much better ways to drive around without getting noticed and driving around in cars that cost well over what any of us make isn’t one of them.

Our cars - a Mercedes-Benz S600 AMG , BMW 760Li , Jaguar XJ and the Audi A8 - are dressed in their best colors with the waxed paint job glimmering in the evening sunlight. Driving through the heavily used highways around the Cleveland area is prime gawking time for motorists. At first, the stares and pointing fingers can make you feel a bit uncomfortable, but can you blame them? It isn’t everyday that you see a luxury barge roll through a relatively poor city, especially now that LeBron James is gone.

These four sedans might be large in stature, but one nudge or poke in the wrong place and its goodnight in one impressive display. So, with more onlookers than a Thanksgiving Day parade, we are obliged to find the best luxury sedan among the four.

Mercedes has unveiled a new video for the 2011 S63 AMG sports sedan. There’s 10 minutes of high quality driving, so sit back, relax, and enjoy!

The 2011 S63 AMG is powered by a newly developed AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine with a peak output of up to 544 to 571 hp and maximum torque of up to 900 NM. With the new engine, the Mercedes S63 AMG makes the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 4.5 seconds with the top speed being limited to 155 mph. However, if you add the AMG Performance package, the 0 to 60 mph sprint will be made in 4.4 seconds and top speed will go up to 186 mph.

Just watch this video and we can bet you will have the same question pop into your head that came into ours; Audi , BMW what’s your response to this?

The Japanese tuner Wald International has prepared a new tuning package for the Mercedes S-Class . In the tuner’s tradition the new package is called the Black Bison Edition and includes new front and rear bumpers, sportier fender ducts, refreshed sidesteps, two new rear spoilers (one on the decklid and one above the glass), and 22-inch matte Renovatio wheels.

All of the cars will be painted in an exclusive Wald color and will get a new exhaust system with dual tailpipes.

The same treatment has also been recently applied to the E-Class . For that package the tuner added a new front bumper with a protruding lower lip, four large projector style driving lights, and vents on either side. The difference between the tuning kit for the E-Class and the S-Class is that the latest one comes painted in white, while the E-Class featured a black exterior color.

Prices for the new package have not been announced yet.

Today, Mercedes added a new version to theirS-Class line-up. The new S350 BlueTEC will go on sale at a price of €76,279. The car sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds and has a limited top speed of 155 mph.

The new S350 BlueTEC comes with an available Passion leather package and an Exclusive Passion leather package that feature seats, armrests, instrument panel support, door linings, ruffled pockets, and a rear shelf in fine leather with contrasting stitching.

Mercedes is currently testing the next generationS-Class that will be unveiled at the end of the year. Codenamed the W222, the next S-Class will be inspired by the F700 Concept unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show.

What we know for sure is that the next S-Class will get blacked-out headlamps, a dummy front grille, and a new front bumper. Under the hood there will be a revised range of V6 and V8 engines. The base version will get a V6 engine with stop-start technology and revised direct injection that improves fuel economy. The top version will get a 4.6 liter V8 engine (down from the current 5.4 liter version) that delivers 429 HP and offers improved fuel economy. The diesel line-up will include a new base version called the S250 CDI and is powered by a 2.1 liter four-cylinder engine with 204 HP.

Also, the next S-class is believed to be the first model to use Mercedes’ radical Diesotto powerplant. The system was introduced in the F700 concept and it is in fact a four-cylinder with a displacement of only 1.8 liters, combining the strong points of the low-emission gasoline engine with the consumption benefits of the diesel drive.

MEC Design has unveiled a new look for the old S-Class . The styling package will go with the W221 pre-facelift Mercedes luxury sedan.

Created for a customer in Germany, the 2007 S550 looks nearly identical to the S65 AMG . The only thing that might give the car away are it’s lack of LED turn signals in the headlamps and LED daytime running lights in the front bumper.

The MEC team installed AMG bumpers, 20-inch wheels, an ELS lowering module and a high performance exhaust system.

Inside the Mercedes, the cabin has a MEC designed steering wheel and floor mats with leather edging.

We have no idea how much it cost the owner, but we can only guess it sure wasn’t cheap.

With Audi and BMW beginning to utilize diesel technology, Mercedes-Benz has decided to join the fight for efficiency with its top of the line model. Mercedes has just announced that the S350 diesel will be coming to the United States. The luxury car will pack a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 diesel that will put out 241 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque, a bit more output than the European version with its 235 hp and 398 lb.-ft. It will be the only S-Class diesel to be sold in the United States.

The S350 will bear the BlueTec badge and will use AdBlue urea injection technology to clean the exhaust. The S350 will get the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system and will be capable of around 37 miles per gallon. That is a massive gain over the S550 , S600 and the S400 hybrid that get 19 city and 26 highway.

Little is known of the Mercedes’ price because Mum seems to be the word in regards to it. Mercedes says they will not release pricing until closer to the car’s launch in the first quarter of 2011.

If the S350 BlueTec works out, Mercedes might just have a leg up on the competition. This vehicle will improve Mercedes’ overall fuel economy and the smaller engine will coincide nicely with the "green" movement currently snowballing into the future.

As you might have known by now, Mercedes will be providing facelifts, mid-cycle refreshers, and name changes to a lot of their models in the next few years. We have already been able to spot this game plan with the 2010 E-Class coupe which has replaced the CLK-Class coupe . Now Mercedes has moved on to its next project by replacing the current CL-Class with a coupe version of the S-Class . We are expecting to see the official debut at the Paris Auto Show and, if the timeline proves true, we would expect sales to begin in early 2011.

The S-Class Coupe will feature redesigned bumpers that give way to a more squared off look, a new grille to accentuate the rectangular bumper, and LED headlights. LED units in the taillights will also be seen as opposed to the previous tailights. The boxier look is further defined with the rectangular-shaped exhaust tips.

Under the hood, Mercedes will keep the same engine line-up as in the current CL-Class range, starting with a 5.5-liter 382 hp V8 and going up to a 604 HP 6.0-liter V12 for the S-Class 65 AMG version .

We are not really sure if these changes could substantiate a total name change, but Mercedes seems to be on some sort of redefining mission so we will go along with it for now. Maybe they will dazzle us with some new, eccentric model sometime soon. We doubt it, but who knows? For now Mercedes seems to be sticking to their classic design that has provided them with many sales in the previous years.

Lorinser Sportservice has revealed the early details of the first tuning kit for the new Mercedes S-Class . The kit includes: new spoiler at front and a discrete diffuser at the back, side skirts, a small roof spoiler, a boot lid wing, and the traditional Lorinser side vents.

The car sits on 9×21-inch front tires with 265/30 and 10×21-inch tires with 295/30 for the rear. And if you want to make your limousine sound like a muscle car, you can get a set of sports mufflers.

Updated 04/12/2010: Lorinser unveiled today official details on their tuning kit for the S-Class. Thanks to a newly programmed control unit, modified turbo charging and fuel injection as well as an optimized exhaust system with sports exhaust, the engine delivers an extra 110 hp. Also the speed limiter has been removed and the Lorinser S-Class can hit a top speed of 205 mph.

With the new engine, the S63 AMG makes the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 4.5 seconds, and top speed is limited to 155 mph.
