With the delivery of the 500,000th vehicle since its market launch in 1996, Mercedes-Benz has now reached another milestone with the successful SLK compact roadster. All in all, about 310,000 customers opted for a model from the first generation of this dynamic two-seater, and its successor has now sold 190,000 units since its market launch in March 2004.
“With the launch of the SLK in 1996, Mercedes-Benz successfully established the premium segment for compact roadsters. Thanks to innovative technology such as the vario-roof and the neck-level heating system AIRSC ARF, the SLK has long been recognized as a cult car of modern times,” expains Dr. Klaus Maier, Executive Vice President Mercedes-Benz Cars, responsible for Sales and Marketing. “The new-generation SLK models, which we are delivering to customers since April 2008, are sportier than ever. I’m confident that the dynamic looks and performance of the new SLK will again set pulses racing among sports cars enthusiasts around the world.”

Due to the recently launch of the face-lifted Mercedes SLK, Brabus unveiled its new version of the little coupe cabriolet. Powered by a 6.1 liter V8 engine capable of delivering 445 hp the car can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds while the top speed is of 305 km/h.
For the updated SLK Brabus offers various alloy wheels with diameters of 17, 18 and 19 inches. The vehicle features specially calibrated suspensions, lowering the car by 30 millimeters in order to make the car more stable at high speeds.
On the inside, the German tuner offers highly polished stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated Brabus logo, Mastik leather and Alcantara and a special designed speedometer with 330 km/h dial.
As usual, Brabus bring nice and clean style with unrestricted top speed.

For the first time the car features the new direct steering with variable servo assistance, which makes the 265 kW/360 hp two-seater even more agile and responsive. The SLK 55 AMG is also the only car in its class to feature a V8 engine, while the improved AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC transmission now offers even faster gearchanges.
After the official informations and images about the 2009 Mercedes SLK facelift, here are the first images of the most powerful version of the class: the SLK 55 AMG. It will go on sale in 2008 at an estimated price of 69,049.75 euro or approximately $ 99,170.
The Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class Roadsters have long captured the hearts of sports car enthusiasts.
