A couple of weeks ago we got the teaser video now we got the full info and plenty of pics of the new Hamann Volcano based on the Mercedes SLR.
Although the SLR is a car most of us would likely give certain parts of our anatomy for, THe people over at Hamann saw room for improvement. A good start was the 5.4-liter V8 engine was boosted from 626 to 700 hp. The new kit also includes a new front spoiler, a redesigned rear bumper, new side sills, a big rear wing spoiler and a new rear bumper with integrated air diffuser. To keep all this on the road, 21 inch Edition Race wheels fitted with 255/30ZR21 tires at the front and 345/25ZR21 at the back. All this creates a car that goes from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds (a 0.2 second improvement) with a limited top speed of 216 mph.
Inside the tuner added new carbon-fiber accessories, aluminium pedals and foot rests, new floor mats, sill protectors with Hamann logo and lots of Alcantara leather.
The car is no doubt impressive, but is it a case of too much? For instance was it really necessary to eliminate the retractable spoiler and attach the large rear wing?
As you may know, Hamann represents a well-known German tuner specialized in tuning high-end supercars. The latest creation of the tuner is the Hamann Volcano based on the Mercedes SLR supercar. In order to offer a little preview of the vehicle the tuner released a video which presents the new vehicle. The new kit for the Mercedes SLR includes a carbon-fiber front lip spoiler, new side sills, a re-designed rear bumper with new rear air diffuser and a big rear wing spoiler specially designed in order to improve the stability. Also, a new set of black wheels was added improving its looks.

This is a whole new level of "bling". Dubai is the eventual resting place for most of the world’s exotic customs, so it’s no surprise to spot this all-chrome Mercedes SLR. We don’t have any details on the car, so please feel free to tell us more. And to the owner: yes, we will be happy to add this to our test fleet.
