The Mercedes SLR McLaren went out of production in 2010 when it was replaced by the SLS AMG->ke2504 sports car. This doesn't mean that tuners totally forgot about the mighty Mercedes, and proof of that comes from Famous Parts, which released a sweet tuning kit based on the SLR McLaren Roadster.

No updates were necessary under the hood, as despite being a decade old, the SLR McLaren->ke566 is still plenty powerful. It was powered by a supercharged V-8 with a total output of 626 horsepower -- 650 horsepower if you were lucky enough to get the SLR "722 Edition". With this potent powerplant in tow, the SLR McLaren remains more powerful than many supercars of today.

Because of this mighty V-8, the tuner decided to add a set of wheels from ADV.1, add a custom suspension system and install a lightweight exhaust.

Famous Parts installed a new, high-end suspension kit from KW automotive which has three stages to allow the driver to choose a softer ride or a low and hard ride for the track. Under this mighty rig. the tuner will install a tailor-made, titanium exhaust system with electronic valve control, which should be ready before New Year's Eve.

The car rides on a set of ADV.1 5.2 MV2 SL wheels, sized 20 inches up front and 21 inches in the rear. The wheels are painted in "brushed silver" refined with a high-gloss clear varnish.
