ADV.1 wheels never cease to amaze us. We’re firm believers that if you own an exotic supercar or sports car and want to drastically improve the overall appearance of your machine while also cutting down on some unsprung weight, then ADV.1 should be your first port of call. Case in point, this incredible 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series recently overhauled by the firm.
When Mercedes unveiled the SL65 AMG Black Series a few years ago, they priced all 200 available models at an insane $320,000. Not surprisingly, the cars were immediately scooped up and the SL65 AMG Black Series has since become a rare and exotic species. Now, ADV.1 Wheels somehow found themselves with one of these babies and they set out and did what they know best.
Featuring a drop-dead gorgeous matte blue paint job, with the addition of some discreet LEDs in the front grilles, this particular SL65 AMG Black Series is arguably the most impressive unit we’ve seen to date. We came to that conclusion even before casting our eyes down to the incredible 10-spoke alloy wheels fitted to this rear-wheeled drive monster.
Sitting on three piece forged aluminum ADV5.0 Track Spec wheels measuring 20x9.5” at the front and 20x12” at the rear, these works of art produced by ADV.1 help to cap off this beautiful piece of German craftsmanship.
As a reminder, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series first debuted way back in 2009 with an uprated 6.0-liter V12 AMG engine pumping out in excess of 650 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. This additional power and torque was found thanks to the 12 percent increase in the size of the two turbochargers, changes to the engine’s intakes, turbo wastegates, and the intercooler also being improved for greater efficiency.
Consequently, the SL65 AMG Black can launch to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 198 mph.
