The Pirelli World Challenge is made up of some of the fastest race-spec sports cars in the world, boasting of such heavyweights like the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, the Audi R8 LMS, the Cadillac CTS-V, the Chevrolet Corvette, and the Nissan GT-R.
Now you can add another car to that mix, thanks to MMBS-Evorsport.
The car is the Mercedes CLK 63 AMG Black Series Race Car, which actually began its life as an Evosport-tuned AMG CLK 63 Black Series street car. From there, it has evolved into a full-fledged race car that was born from a years’ worth of development, fabrication, testing, and refinement by the folks over at Evosport Engineering.
With all the preparations in tow, the no. 24 CLK 63 AMG Black Series Race Car is primed and ready to compete in the Pirelli World Challenge’s GT class where it will be piloted by veteran race car driver Craig Stanton.
"It has been a long road to get here, but I am very excited that we get to finally take our AMG CLK63 Black Series racing," said Stanton.
"The car is absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait for the racing world to see what the guys at Evosport Engineering have been working on this year. It is a work of art, and in my experience, cars that look fast ARE fast. They have taken a true street car - a car that that was registered, insured, everything - and turned into a World Challenge race car. I can’t wait to show everyone what it can do."
MBBS-Evorsport’s no. 24 CLK 63 AMG Black Series Race Car will be making its debut at the Cadillac Sonoma Grand Prix, the season finale of the 2012 Pirelli World Challenge Championship, before competing in the full 2013 schedule of the racing series.
