How would you like to own a Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet that can smoke even the most powerful of exotics in the world? It sounds like we're reaching considering that the car doesn't really belong in the same exotic landscape as those devil-may-care machines. But once you see what German tuning company, Brabus->ke368, has cooked up, you're going to have to pick your jaws up off the floor. Don't feel too bad, though, because we just picked ours up too.

This is the Brabus 800 E V12 Cabriolet and it really does defy all kinds of reasonable explanation. It's based on the E-Class Cabriolet and it's got enough power to shame even some of the most powerful supercars on the planet. Of course, all that is owed to the 800-horsepower engine under its hood, which really is beyond comprehension when you think about it. It's an E-Class, people! Make no mistake; the E-Class has some serious juice in it, but 800 horsepower?

We're starting to be at a loss for words so it's probably best to find out more about it after the jump.

Exterior and Interior

Aesthetically, the Brabus-tuned E-Class Cabriolet offers plenty of aerodynamic enhancements made from high-strength carbon fiber and fine-tuned in the wind tunnel. The rear of the car features specially designed carbon fiber fender flares that add 60 mm to the car’s overall width. This allows for space to have 19” wheels to be fitted with 295/30 ZR 19 tires. More to that, the car’s suspension was also strengthened with the help of Bilstein, allowing it to have ten selectable settings for bound and rebound front and back with a ride height that can be adjusted by up to 35 mm depending on the whims of the driver.

Inside, Brabus made sure to dress up the car with materials befitting of all that power under its hood. The cockpit comes plush in red and black leather with inlays on the dashboard, center console, and side trims made from carbon fiber. There’s also a new Brabus steering wheel to go with a speedometer dial that reaches all the way up to 250 mph, a testament to the true potential of this car when it’s unleashed out on the road.

Performance

With this new tuning package, Brabus really spared no expense in turning this E-Class Cabriolet into a brute of epic proportions. Already powered by a 6.3-liter V12 Bi-Turbo engine, the German tuning company ratcheted up the output to a staggering 800 horsepower and 1,047 lb/ft of torque that’s electronically limited to “just” 811 lb/ft of torque while mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Even with that little ‘restriction’, this beast of a car can still hit 0-62 mph in just 3.7 seconds, 0-124 mph in 9.9 seconds, 0-186 mph in 23.9 seconds, and a top speed of 231 mph. We don’t know about you guys, but this car is one of the fastest four-seater cabriolets we’ve ever seen.

Pricing

With all the work Brabus put into this car, don’t expect it to come cheap. As a matter of fact, you’re going to need to shell out a whole load of moolah for the chance to own it. How much exactly? Try something to the tune of 478,000, which is about $681,000 based on current exchange rates.

Competition

We’re definitely scratching our heads here thinking of a car that can measure up to this 800-horsepower rocket relative to its segment. Truth is, we don’t know of any four-seater cabriolet that has that much power. We tried looking at other tuned-up E-Class Cabrios and nothing came close. Heck, even Brabus’ previous work on the 2010 E-Class only netted 493 horsepower and 453 lb/ft of torque, a far cry from the otherworldly numbers these package has.

Unless we reach for comparisons with the true blue supercars of the world, you’d be hard pressed to find a four-seater cabrio that can go toe-to-toe with this nasty piece of work. In fact, if you've seen any Cabrio that's faster, please let us know!
