The next time any one of us gets in an accident that warrants a visit from an emergency vehicle, we may need to get our pulse checked even further if Mercedes’ new design study ever sees the production line. The new SLS AMG Emergency Vehicle will be rushing to the rescue starting May 11th-May 13th at the 2011 RETTmobil - the largest European trade fair for rescue and mobility.
We don’t know much about the design study, but the images released by Mercedes show a silver SLS AMG with the German word for emergency (Notarzt) stretched across the side. The traditional red and blue highlights come in the form of blue light beams and red exterior accent paint. The interior will undoubtedly be filled with your usual emergency equipment, although we doubt they will be able to stow a stretcher in the back.
In terms of power, we are guessing that it will remain the same for the SLS AMG Emergency Vehicle because the 6.3-liter V8 engine developing 571 hp and up to 479 lb-ft of torque found in the standard model is still much more than your average emergency vehicle. That is, unless you are counting the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia revealed back in 2009.
