Brabus has chosen the 2011 Dubai Motor Show to set the stage for the world's fastest and most powerful luxury coupe. Together with some of the most amazing vehicles in the world, Brabus->ke561 has revealed their Brabus 800 Coupe based off of the Mercedes CL600. This new package ensures the coupe pushes out 800 HP and a top speed of 217 mph while looking sporty and elegant.

Starting off the transformation is the upsizing of the vehicle's V12 engine, from 5.5 L to 6.3L. Then, thanks to a high-end turbocharging system designed by Brabus engine specialists and a carbon-fiber ram-air intake integrated into the hood, the CL600 now pushes out a total of 800 HP and 1,047 lb-ft of torque. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph is now made in just 3.9 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 217 mph.

Exterior

The standard Mercedes CL600 received a few aerodynamic changes to improve on its performance, including a new front spoiler, an understated rear spoiler on the trunk lid, and a rear fascia insert. The final Brabus 800 Coupe was put through extreme testing in the wind tunnel in order to ensure that the aerodynamic improvements were successful. The vehicle was then topped off with a new set of wheels, size 18" to 22" depending on the customer's wishes, and a lowering module to bring the two-door car by some 25 millimeters (about 1").

Interior

The interior of the Mercedes looks exquisite in a combination of white leather and black Alcantara, each with contrasting seams and diamond-pattern top-stitching. These seats are combined with carbon-fiber elements, an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel, Brabus logo, aluminum pedals, foot rest, and shifter.

Engine

The great look provided to the Mercedes CL600 by Brabus absolutely comes second to the impressive engine update provided. The tuner first increased the displacement of the engine from 5.5L to 6.3L, then added a high-end turbocharging system designed by the Brabus engine specialists. This system features two custom exhaust manifolds with integrated turbine housings and high-performance turbochargers, as well as four water-to-air intercoolers. A carbon-fiber ram-air intake was also integrated into the hood.

The result of all this work is an incredible 800 HP at a low 5,500 rpm and 1,047 lb-ft of torque available from 2,100 rpm. However, the peak torque will be limited electronically to 811 lb-ft.

Even with that limitation, the sprint from 0 to 60 mph is still made in 3.9 seconds and the 0 to 124 mph sprint in 10.3 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 217 mph.

Competition

Tuning packages for the Mercedes CL-Class are a dime a dozen, but we haven't seen any that have managed to transform it into the world’s most powerful and fastest four-seat luxury coupe. Even Brabus themselves have modified a CL500 that managed to squeeze out a total of 520 HP with a top speed of 186 mph. Still a long-shot away from the incredible job they have done on the CL600.
