It seems tuners are getting a little antsy when it comes to providing tuning kits for new car models. The Mercedes CLS->ke539 hasn't even been launched yet and already tuning firm, Lorinser, has come up with a tuning kit for the luxury sedan. The tuner will make updates to the engine, chassis, and exterior.
"We will distribute our tuning-version globally in 45 countries, therefore a sophisticated body-design is required." Well, lucky for them sophisticated body designs are something they can do well. Remember their rendition of the Mercedes E-Class? That package is pretty similar to the one being provided for the Mercedes CLS. Both packages add a unique styling to the vehicle. For this tuning kit large air intake grills are added providing a little character to the front end of the elusive Mercedes CLS. They provide an optimal fresh air supply to the engine and brakes. Lorinser has also extended the fenders which leaves plenty of room for the 21-inch light-alloy wheels. This was also provided for the Mercedes E-Class kit provided back in January.
We have already seen a few spyshots of the anticipated Mercedes CLS, but to have a tuning kit provided for a car that has not even been revealed yet is quite an impressive feat for a tuner. Let's just hope it is what they expect.
UPDATE 07/19/11: More than a year after it was first teased to us, Lorinser has finally released the first batch of photos for the 2012 CLS-Class. That took a while, didn't it? The new Mercedes CLS-class will be available for delivery to customers in 2011. Sport-Service Lorinser, the recognised specialist for Mercedes refining, is already working on options to individualise technology and design, far in advance of the market introduction. A well thought out concept is necessary to provide the four-door sports-limousine with a stylish and cutting edge profile. This requires a lot of experience, because upgrading a vehicle that is not yet for sale can be quite difficult – but not for the well trained Lorinser personnel.

The Lorinser-interpretation emphasises the sportive features with strikingly impressive innovation. Large air intake grills characterise the distinctive appearance of the front-end and enable an optimal fresh air supply to engine and brakes. The extended fenders not only enhance the masculine appearance of the car, but also provide space for the 21-inch light-alloy wheels.
But not only the styling will be optimised: Chassis, engine and interior is also upgraded at Lorinser-manufacturing. Featuring these upgrades, the Lorinser-CLS will advance to „eye candy“ on the luxury boulevards of all major cities.
