Carlsson has already started to work on its lineup for the upcoming 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show->ke235. Typically, we are used to seeing Carlsson updating some of the most high-performance sports cars out there, but this time around it decided to turn its attention on something a little smaller and more economical: the Mercedes B-Class.

Carlsson updated both the exterior and the interior look of the car, and made some fairly healthy improvements under the hood. On the base-level B180->ke2751, Carlsson punched its output up from 122 to 146 horsepower. Next in line for a power boost is the B200, which goes from 156 to 187 horsepower. Finally, the B250 jumps from 211 to 253 horsepower. These power boosts are performed via a simple ECU remapping, which releases horsepower that Mercedes chose to leave out of the factory models.

The extra power was combined with an updated suspension with lowering springs, which dropped the car's ride by 35 mm (1.37 inches). This not only lowered the center of gravity and improved its handling, but it also gave this compact Benz a sportier look.

Mercedes B-Class by Carlsson in Detail

For the B-Class, Carlsson also prepared an aerodynamic styling kit that features a new front spoiler for a more dynamic face, new side sills and a new rear apron with integrated diffuser flanked by cut-outs for two pairs of rear exhaust outlets. The last piece of the kit was a large roof spoiler that added a sporty look and a little downforce to the hot hatchback.

Carlsson then installed alloy wheels with high-performance tires. For these rollers, customers can choose between 18-, 19- or 20-inch wheels with either Dunlop or Vredestein high-performance tires.

For the interior the tuner offers several options, including: new floor mats, alloy pedals and door pins, bespoke leather upholstery, and wood or carbon-fiber trim.
