If we were to pick one of our favorite Mercedes models, no doubt the C63 AMG Black Series would make it on the list. With a standard 517 horsepower V-8 engine, this luxury coupe is one of the most powerful on the market. In fact, most of us believe it is plenty powerful enough as is and needs no updates. The German tuner Tikt however, believes otherwise and announced its Black Baron package for the coupe.
Under the C63 AMG Black Series’ hood is where the fun really happened, as Tikt installed larger throttle valves, high-performance racing headers and a completely new high-performance exhaust system with a sports catalyzer and X-pipe. As a result, the engine’s output has been increased to 606 horsepower and 486 pound-feet of torque. That’s an 18-percent increase in horsepower and 6-percent bump in torque from only mild modifications.
Along with the engine updates, the Tikt also installed a new set of lightweight forged wheels offered in two sizes: 19 or 20 inches. Hankook high-performance tires embrace these rims snugly, helping keep the C-Class on the road. Also available is a Clubsport adjustable suspension system for even better handling.
The entire car can be yours for €175,000, which is about $228,000 at the current exchange rates. That’s “only” €59,570 ($77,661) more than the base C63 AMG Black Series, which is quite a hike in our opinion.
