The Mercedes E63 AMG prides itself in blending performance with luxury. That seamless combination has allowed the luxury saloon->ke505 to carve a niche for itself in the market, but German tuner Loewenstein Manufaktur isn’t impressed with just a standard E63 AMG; it wants to turn it into a powerhouse. That should always the formula for any aftermarket company that plans to succeed in the realm of making fast cars faster.

You won’t see any frills on this program. None of those unnecessary dress ups and none of those fancy paint colors. What you see is what you get, until you pop open the hood and see where the magic happens. I'm not going to divulge the details of the engine upgrade just yet, but I will tell you that it's impressive enough to give the E63 AMG the juice it needs to compete with a lot of supercars->ke177 today.

Not bad for a cushy luxo-sedan->ke142.

Mercedes-Benz E-LM63-700 by Loewenstein In Detail

It doesn't deviate from its standard looks, but this Mercedes E63 AMG has enough power to make supercars tremble in fear. Props to Loewenstein for giving this luxury saloon on hell of a knockout punch.

In addition to the massive engine upgrade, Loewenstein also dropped the car’s height by 25 mm (0.98 inch), thanks to the newly installed threaded springs on the front axle, as well as a mechanical adaptation of the serial airmatic system to the rear axle. Also included is a set of 20-inch RENNSPORT wheels Loeweinstein wrapped in Michelin Super Sport tires.

Under the hood is where all the goodness really lies. Despite AMG reducing the E63 AMG's engine capacity from 6.3 liters to just 5.5 liters, this powerful sedan still produces 525 horsepower (575 horsepower with the "Performance Pack"). With this odd decrease in capacity but increase in horsepower, Loewenstein knew it was working with an engine that was already working overtime to produce its ponies.

With this, Loewenstein chose to add new sports catalyzers and a sports air filter to the mix, and reprogram the car’s ECU system. With these items in place, the E63 AMG now produces a mouth-watering 720 horsepower and 774 pound-feet of torque, which is around the same numbers the Lamborghini Aventador produces.
