2013 Mercedes CLC-Class

  Review

People have been talking about a baby CLS for quite sometime now, but the car has finally been caught testing. The CLC - codenamed C117 - will be based on a long-wheelbase version of the upcoming front-drive B-class platform. It will also get an AMG model that is considered an indirect successor to the classic 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II.

The upcoming CLC model will be equipped with a four-wheel drive system that will be paired up with a 1.6 liter turbocharged petrol engine offered in two versions: one with 121 HP and one with 154 HP. The top version will be powered by a 2.0 liter petrol engine with 207 HP and will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in about 7 seconds, while top speed will be in the 145 mph area. The diesel line-up will include a 1.8 liter engine with 108 HP and 134 HP, plus a 2.1 version offered with 168 HP and 201 HP. The engines will be combined with a a six-speed manual gearbox as standard or a dual-clutch gearbox.

Expect the new Mercedes CLC to be launched in late 2013.

Updated 09/27/2011: According to Inside Line, who is quoting Mercedes officials, the new CLC sedan will be making its world debut t at the 2012 New York Auto. The new model will mimic the "coupe" styling used by the larger CLS sedan and will be recognized as a true Mercedes. The CLC will be be the first of several smaller Mercedes-Benz models scheduled for U.S. sales and will be followed by a GLC SUV set to arrive in 2014.

Updated 01/05/2012: The upcoming Mercedes CLC has been spot testing one more time, during winter testing. Enjoy!

Updated 03/29/2012: Mercedes has officially confirmed us today that the new baby CLS - currently known as the CLC - will be produced at the company’s new plant in Kecskemét next to the current B-Class.

It is definitely not its official outlook, and I would really wait for the authenticated looks of it. Moreover, I think they should boost more its engine for the fact that 207 is not truly good enough on it.

It’s not its official outlook guys, so I think we should wait for the authentic appearance of it. Anyway, I hope that its engine is only good enough for it and could truly give a nice speed for this.

Yeah! I have to agree with Ally Marhesi. The looks of this vehicle seem not from Mercedes. I mean Mercedes car are super known with their impressive and luxurious cars, and I can’t see it on this CLC.

I was thinking on what will be the performance of the vehicle if it’s using a 2 liter? The engine performance of the car is quite amazing. I hope to see a future production for this one.

I’m still puzzled with the look of the vehicle since it’s hiding on a camouflage. The figure performance of the car is quite powerful. Its deliver power output is kind of powerful.

A baby CLC? are you kidding me? this one is so ugly for a Mercedes car. Sorry to say but I know they need to enhance the design of this CLC I can’t even see the "class" on this car.

This baby CLS is not that impressive with the looks. The paint is some kind of lame, which doesn’t seem to be a luxury car. However, the output is quite enough for a luxury car,  and I do like the platform of the car.

I really don’t think that the performance of this car is less powerful. For a daily used car, 50 hp is just enough so I don’t think that it required a higher figure than what was being offered. With the turbocharged engine presented in this concept vehicle I bet it would comes in a  high-priced tag.

Since the car was in a longer wheel base form, I wonder if Mercedes had planned on selling this production vehicle in the Chinese market? I noticed that the performance of diesel engine is kind of less powerful and its kind of slower in terms of 0-60 mph.
