Alpha Performance is mostly known for building some pretty sick programs for the Nissan GT-R->ke1592. We've certainly seen a fair share of them in the past, but now it looks like the noted Godzilla tuner has turned its attention towards Mercedes vehicles.

The project involves some sizable work done by Alpha Performance on Mercedes' noted 5.5-liter BiTurbo (M157) engine. Incidentally, one such model carrying this powertrain is the Mercedes E63 AMG, a car that packs serious power in its own right.

But apparently, that wasn't enough for Alpha Performance, who then decided to give the E63 AMG the kind of power upgrade normally reserved for the fastest and most powerful supercars in the world.

To accomplish this, Alpha Performance went by the business of giving the car's engine a complete overhaul, beginning with the replacement of the Garrett ball bearing center cartridge. From there, the tuner also tweaked with the set up of the Alpha-spec billet compressor wheel, thanks to the addition of latest design software and machining processes, ensuring that output is improved while keeping the overall efficiency of the car.

With these upgrades in tow, the E63 AMG can produce a staggering 850 horsepower and 900-plus pound-feet of torque, almost twice as much as what the standard engine is capable of and good enough to allow it to 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds and 60-130 mph in just 6.58 seconds. By comparison, the mighty Ferrari Enzo's 60-130-time is at seven seconds flat.

But the best part about the Alpha 9 BiTurbo program is that it's not limited to just E63 AMG. According Alpha Performance, you can avail of the same tuning kit for any 2012 and onwards Mercedes AMG model.

2009-2013 Mercedes E63 AMG

The Mercedes E63 AMG has since been revamped with a new 2014 model, but the previous incarnation was still quite the road warrior.

Proof of that lies in the numbers wherein the E63 AMG packed quiet a load in the form of a 5.5-liter V-8 BiTurbo engine that produced a staggering 557 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, good enough to break 0-60 mph in just 4.3 seconds with a 155-mph top speed.
