Mercedes ->ke187 is expanding its CLA lineup with the addition of a new CLA 250 Sport. The model will be officially unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show->ke235 and will be available for order starting October 7th. The model is priced from €42,304 (about $55,000 at the current exchange rates).

The new CLA 250 Sport->ke3130 is distinguished by an "AMG Line" equipment package, "Sport" badges on the front wings and red detailing on the AMG front and rear apron. It sits on 18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels in a five-spoke design and wrapped in 235/40R18 tires.

Under the hood, the CLA 250 Sport gets a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers a total of 211 horsepower -- a 3-horsepower jump over the CLA 250 -- and 258 pound-feet of torque between 1,200 and 4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 7G-DCT dual-clutch transmission and is combined with a special AMG-developed front axle, AMG speed-sensitive sports steering and a modified exhaust system.

Mercedes CLA-Class

The latest addition to the Mercedes lineup, the new CLA Class, was unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show->ke222 after being previewed by the Concept Style Coupe. For the U.S. market, Mercedes will only offer a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers a total of 208 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The CLA 250 is priced from $29,900.
