2014 Mercedes GLC

  Review

The Mercedes G-Class has had a very long history in the automotive industry since its launch back in 1979. Currently the model comes in four versions: G, GL, ML and GLK. Starting 2014, however, a fifth version will be added to the line-up. Called the GLC, the new model will be a small coupe SUV.

The Mercedes GLC will be built on the same front-wheel drive architecture that features transversely-mounted engines as found in the next A and B-Classes. The engine setup will also be found in the future BLS. Codenamed the X156, the GLC will measure 4.40-meters. It will in no means a superscript B-class with all-wheel option, but a car with its own individuality.

The exterior of the GLC features ground clearance, large-sized tires, a larger angle in the front bumper, and a coupe-like roof line. The engines will be taken over by the C- and E-Class 250 4Matic CGI (1.8-liter four cylinder gasoline engine, 204 hp) and the 220 CDI 4Matic (2.2-liter four cylinder Diesel, 170 HP).

I think this future vehicle is kind of less powerful compare to the current production of Mercedes. And I don’t think that there’s any market for smaller version of SUV. Just look at the sale of Porsche Cajun.

hmm. I don’t think that this car is as elegant as the standard version of Mercedes. The tyres seems powerful. I wonder if this car will be the competitor of Porsche Cajun?

The car seemed to be aggressive. It looks more powerful compare to other SUV out there. By the way, I notice the engine to be use, and I think it can barely compete with its competitors.

We couldn’t admit on how beautiful is the current production of the G-Class most especially its interior! Although the engine is not that promising still I’m glad to see that the elegance of this car can still be seen in its future productionsmiley

hmm. Just looking at the picture above, I can sense that the future production for SUV of Mercedes would be similar with the typical version of its type. I’m more excited for a sportscar version rather than this!

2014? They really need to prepare it for a longer period of time. Hope it won’t be released early because they have to finish all the tests and work with the improvements.

Mercedes tries to outdo the X6 when it comes to pointlessness, right?

Why stop the GL, ML, GLK and the classic G-Class? Me and my family really don’t like it. It is not as big as the GL. It could maybe replace the ML or GLK but it could never replace the G-Class.

expect the GLC to come equipped with the 1.8-liter four cylinder gasoline engine 204 hp or the 2.2-liter four cylinder diesel 170 HP.
