It looks like large SUVs have received lots of attention from tuners at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, as now the Mercedes GL63 has been transformed into the B63 by Brabus. The kit includes a very cool aerodynamic kit, plus an additional 63 horsepower under the hood.
The SUV’s 5.5-liter Bi-turbo V-8 engine received new mapping for its fuel injection and ignition, plus a moderate increase in boost pressure. As a result the V-8 engine now delivers a total of 620 horsepower and a peak torque of 604 pound-feet. The car will now sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds and up to a top speed of 174 mph.
To handle all of this extra power, Brabus installed an upgraded control module for the AIRMATIC suspension system, which drops the overall ride height by 30 mm (1.18 inches). Also added in is a Brabus high-performance braking system that combines six-piston calipers on the front and four-piston calipers on the rear with 15.9-by-1.3-inch cross-drilled rotors up front and 15-by-1.3-inch rotors on the rear.
Along with the engine upgrades, the B63 kit features an aerodynamic package that adds striking fender flares front and back, larger air inlets on the front bumper and for the rear a new roof spoiler and a new diffuser. The car will sit on 23-inch forged wheels available in three designs: Monoblock E evo, F and R. These rims are wrapped up with 305/30ZR23 tires from Continental, Pirelli or Yokohama.
For the interior, the new B63 kit adds the finest Mastik leather and Alcantara, stainless-steel scuff plates with backlit Brabus logos, aluminum peripherals (pedals, door pins and shift paddles) and precision upholstery work.

The new-generation G-Class AMG received lots of attention at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show. The second tuner to update the new G65 AMG is Brabus which developed a kit called the G800 - a clear reference to the engine’s output of course.
The G800 kit includes a high-tech Bi-turbo system, a new exhaust system with integrated turbine housings and high-performance turbochargers to help optimize throttle response. Brabus also installed four water-to-air intercoolers and two air filter boxes in the front fenders. With some extra help from reprogramming of the ECU, the engine now delivers a total of 800 horsepower and 1,047 pound-feet of torque. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph is made in just 4.2 seconds, while top speed is limited electronically to 155 mph, but it can be increased to 168 mph by removing the speed limiter.
The G800 kit continues with an aerodynamic package that includes powerfully sculpted fender flares, a new front spoiler with integrated LED daytime running lights on both sides and a new front grille with Brabus logo. The G65 AMG is now 4.7 inches wider, thanks to the addition of new fender flares. The model will sit on a set of 23-inch forged wheels combined with high-performance tires in size 305/35R23. There is also a new Ride Control suspension that offers two different setups: comfort and sport.
For the interior, the tuner offers a combination of BRABUS Mastik leather and fine Alcantara, plus carbon-fiber and wood inlays.
The AMG versions of the new Mercedes G-Class — both the G65 AMG and G63 AMG — are quite perfect from factory, but there is always room for improvement. German tuner, Hamann, is proving this by unveiling a new tuning kit called Spyridon that can be combined with both the AMG models.
In order to deliver more power, the only modifications the tuner is offering are the addition of a new exhaust system and some minor ECU upgrades. The results are quite incredible, as the G65 AMG’s output goes from 612 to 702 horsepower and the peak torque goes from 737 to 818 pound-feet of torque, and the G63 version’s output is increased from 544 to 610 horsepower and the peak torque up from 516 to 645 pound-feet.
The exterior upgrades include the addition of tailor-made LED fluorescent strips added to the front spoiler, new mirror housings and engine bonnet made in carbon fiber. At the back, a new roof spoiler and rear apron offer increased aerodynamics. Down the sides, new side skirts are offered with LEDs that illuminate the floor. The latest addition to the exterior is a set of 24-inch light-alloy wheels made from aluminum.
For the interior, the tuner offers decorative stitching on the instrument panel and the seats, gold-colored leather door panels and a total of 24 carbon trims.
UPDATE 04/04/13: Hamann has released the official studio photos of the G65 AMG Spyridon a month after the Geneva Motor Show. You know what they say: better late than never. Check out the photos in the gallery below!
We’re all extremely excited to see what Mercedes is hiding under all of the camo on the upcoming S-Class Coupe. For now, however, we will just have to sit around and look at random spy shots that come in. Here we go again, as our spy photographers have caught the S-Class Coupe out playing around.
This time around, however, the S-Class was caught playing in cold, white stuff, also known as “snow,” in Northern Sweden. Unfortunately, these images don’t show us anything that we haven’t seen before, since the S-Class is still heavily camouflaged.
The fact that the S-Class is frolicking around in the snow leads us to believe that this particular model is putting the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system to the test. We’re pretty sure it handled the snow and ice admirably.
We are still awaiting official details on the 2015 S-Class Coupe, but we’ll bring you more spy shots and information as soon as we get our hands on them.
This winter, we have brought you tons of spy shots showing upcoming models testing in cold weather. Today, Mercedes took out two of its upcoming models out for a little play in the snow. The first is the next generation C-Class, which continues to drop of its camouflage.
The next C-Class will take its design inspiration from the F800 Concept Car, which was shown two years ago at the Geneva Motor Show, with a more marked front grille. Still, you should expect more of an evolution than a revolution, because according to Mercedes, its customers will still need to be able to recognize the model.
The new C-Class will be offered with updated version of the current petrol and diesel engines. A hybrid version will be offered for the first time.
The new generation Mercedes C-Class will be unveiled in early 2014. The sedan version will be followed by a station wagon version, a coupe and a convertible.
Mercedes’ stand at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show included a particularly sporty and racy A180 that was designed to preview the German automaker’s new Sport program.
If this display is any indication, then Mercedes has a versatile choice of options to give its customers.
Dressed in a Polar Silver exterior paint with Jupiter Red detachable parts, the A-Class Sport is a real sight for the senses. The new components fitted into the sports hatchback and treated with the Jupiter Red shade include the front apron spoiler lip, the roof spoiler, and the rear apron trim, all of which carry a distinct complement to the shiny Polar Silver body.
From there, Mercedes decorated the entire body of the A-Class Sport with a sticker kit that features a checkered-flag design with a color gradient and a silver-tinted sun protection strip with red linings and a choice of racing numbers that customers can have run the entire length of the car. If that isn’t enough, the German automaker is also previewing its "Night" styling package, one that comes with its own front and rear trim, a new diamond radiator grille, illuminated door sills and a set of 18-inch two-tone light-alloy wheels. A sports steering wheel is also part of the program, as are the new sports pedals.
Last but not least, the A-Class Sport also receives performance and handling kits that feature a two-pipe rear silencer, a new sports suspension system and perforated brake discs and red calipers.

Following up on their first Geneva offering, the McLaren MP4-12C Chimera, FAB Design has taken the covers off of its second Geneva program, this time for the Mercedes SL63 AMG Bayard. Following along the same lines of the mythical chimera, we’re venturing a guess that FAB Design’s use of “bayard” originates from the magical bay horse in European urban legend.
In any case, the SL63 AMG Bayard comes chock-full with a host of improvements that definitely fits FAB Design’s reputation as a premier aftermarket company. It describes the program as "haute couture for the road" so, the expectations for a completely tricked out program are already other.
To accomplish its goal of dressing up the SL-Class, FAB Design began by installing a new and more aggressive front spoiler that comes with enormous air intakes. The tuner also added a light, carbon-reinforced nose component that provides increased airflow to the sports car’s engine. Moving to the sides, FAB Design added side skirts that widened the SL by an impressive 70 mm (2.75 inches) on the front and 120 mm (4,72 inches) on the rear. Add in the new carbon rear spoiler and the integrated diffuser for improved handling and stability, as well as a new set of 20-inch three-piece Evolution Concarve aluminum wheels wrapped in Dunlop tires, and you have the makings of a really aggressive-looking SL63 AMG coupe.
Moving to what’s under the hood, FAB Design improved the SL63 AMG’s output, thanks to numerous engine tweaks that include a remapped ECU, a sports catalytic converter, and new exhaust tailpipes. With all these upgrades, the SL63 AMG’s 5.5-liter V-8 engine now boasts of 630 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 653 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 to 4,500 rpm. After the upgrade, the SL63 AMG is now capable of hitting 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds with an estimated top speed of just under 200 mph.
FAB Design is only building 35 units of the Bayard program, which means that you better hurry if you want a piece of one!
Unlike most aftermarket companies, Swiss tuner Mansory rarely releases programs unless it has plans of showing them off in major auto shows.
But you can always count on it to have a presence in Geneva, in large part because a) it’s in its own stomping grounds, and b) it’s the biggest auto show of the year.
One of the programs Mansory has prepared for Geneva is a rather over-the-top program for the Mercedes G65 AMG. We’ve already established the tuner’s proclivity to use carbon fiber, something its Gronos program for the G65 AMG has in abundance.
The newly designed bodywork was made from ultra-light carbon, including the front splitter, which features LED daytime running lights and the front fairing that lays over it. It’s also worth noting that, despite the vehicle receiving multiple layers of Magic Yellow color paint, certain parts of the G65 AMG, particularly the roof, the mirror housings and the decorative trims, were left to show the carbon fiber design of the bodywork.
You’ll also notice that the G65 AMG is a little wider, something that can be attributed to the wider wings and side skirts, as well as the stretched wheel arches, netting an increase of 20 mm (0.78 inches) in width. Finally, a new set of 23-inch ten twin-spoke wheels wrapped in high-performance Vredestein Ultrac Vorti tires.
The interior is also the picture of Mansory tuning genius, particularly the dashboard and center console, which has been redesigned with more carbon-fiber components. The plush modification in those areas is complemented by the immaculate leather upholstered on the seats with matching Magic Yellow stitching.
Finally, there’s the engine, which Mansory was able to upgrade, thanks to the addition of a newly designed exhaust system, a new manifold, and a double stainless-steel tailpipes. Put together, the tuner was able to increase the output of the G65 AMG’s 6-liter V-12 engine to 840 horsepower with an electronically limited 738 pound-feet of torque.
It’s true that Mercedes doesn’t offer a convertible version for its G-Class lineup, but at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, Mansory wants to prove that a three-door cabrio body fits perfectly on the new-generation G500. Like with all the other models the tuner is going to display in Geneva, the new Speranza also features a carbon-fiber body kit, an updated interior and an amazing update for the V-8 engine.
For the exterior, Mansory has installed wider wings that make the Speranza about 0.78 inches wider and in the same time they provide a more masculine look. Up front, the model received a new front bumper with integrated LED daytime running lights, a carbon-fiber bonnet and new headlights. For the rear, Speranza received a new rear spoiler and a spare wheel cover made of carbon fiber.
The package also requires new side skirts and new wheel arches that hide the new, forged 24-inch wheels in ten-twin-spoke design and wrapped in high performance 305/35 Vredestein Ultrac Vorti tires.
In order to increase the V-8’s output, the tuner installed new pistons, connecting rods, rod bearings, crankshaft, crank, cylinder head, plus a newly designed exhaust system with double stainless-steel tailpipes. The result is an output increased from the standard 385 horsepower up to 700 horsepower, while the peak torque is limited to 663 pound-feet.
Oakley Design may not be headed to the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, but that doesn’t mean it can’t steal some of the headlines, especially when it has a new program for a supercar like the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster.
Called the SLS AMG 640-2 Carbon Edition, Oakley Design gives real meaning to the program’s name with plenty of carbon parts added to the exterior and interior of the SLS AMG Roadster. Other additions to the Mercedes supercar include new air intakes with integrated LED lights, a new bumper with what looks like fangs and a new exhaust system that looks oddly similar to the one equipped in the C63 AMG Black Series.
But the most important part of the 640-2 Carbon Edition is the increase in output Oakley Design managed to give to the SLS AMG Roadster. From the stock output of 571 horsepower and 473 pound-feet of torque, Oakley Design was able to push those numbers north to 640 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque.
While these modifications certainly point to the skills of Oakley Design as a premier aftermarket company, we have a feeling that it has more up its sleeve in terms of details about its 640-2 Carbon Edition program for the SLS AMG Roadster.
