Mitsubishi launched today the Lancer Evolution X Police Edition, because after all if the kids you’re chasing have them, why can’t you. All the company revealed are the images of the car and no specifications, but the photos show the car in the London Metro Police’s colors (London has been rumored to be testing 2.0-liter diesel Lancers.) The police edition is truly just an Evo X with a light bar. It’s powered by the same turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder 16-valve DOHC MIVEC (likely 300 hp) unit used used in the standard Lancer Evolution X. The car is also loaded with the Evo X’s S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control) vehicle dynamics control system and the newly developed, power-efficient Twin Clutch SST (Sport Shift Transmission).
The British subsidiary of Mitsubishi revealed the construction plan for a race-going model of the new
Lancer EVO X which will first race at the Britcar Championship. The new version is being developed with the help of A
DR Motorsport specialists and it is expected to reach 400HP. “Mitsubishi UK has not been involved with circuit racing for many years, so this new initiative is a great opportunity for us. Subject to the level of interest from competitors, we are also hoping to announce a one-make race-series for the Evolution X soon”, said Paul Brigden, Ralliart’s GM
