The soft ride and the roomy interior make it perfect for the rental fleets, but the Galant lacks the personality to attract attention away from the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. It is due for a desperately needed redesign soon. The ride is respectable, the steering predictable. The four-cylinder is acceptable, but nothing more." (CarAndDriver) "Our road test for the 2010 Mitsubishi Galant includes a full evaluation of the 2010 Mitsubishi Galant from the inside out. We evaluate not only engine and handling performance for the 2010 Mitsubishi Galant, but also interior cabin and cargo space. Reasonably nimble, but Galant doesn’t control body motions as well due to suspension tuning that is soft when compared with other midsize cars. The brakes are adequate in routine use, but simulated panic stops revealed spongy pedal action and only average stopping distances. (ConsumerGuide) " "The Galant still has virtues. It offers solid safety scores and a comfortable, predictable ride that won’t intrude much on your daily commute. But reviewers say it suffers from sub-par build quality and cheap interior materials, and a lack of power. At a time when most affordable midsize cars are available at a significant discount, buyers will want to test drive class-leaders like the Fusion and Camry before committing money to a Galant." (US News) CompetitorsThe 2010 Chevrolet Malibu is offered with a choice of two engines: a Ecotec 2.4L VVT rated at 169 hp at 6200 rpm and 158 lbs-ft at 5200 rpm and a 3.6L V-6 DOHC w/VVT that delivers a total of 252 hp at 6300 rpm and a peak torque of 251 lbs-ft at 3200 rpm. Prices range from $21,825 to $26,955. Kia Optima is available in two powerplants – a 2.4-liter four-cylinder or a 2.7-liter V6 engine – and two five-speed transmissions (manual with LX four-cylinder model only). The four-cylinder engine delivers 161 hp and the 2.7-liter V6 delivers190 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. The V6 is mated to a five-speed, gated automatic transmission. All automatics feature Sportmatic clutchless shifting. Prices range from $17,995 to $22,795. The 2010 Ford Fusion is offered in four trim levels: S, SE, SEL. The S version gets a 2.5-liter I-4 engine that delivers 175 hp; the SE and SEL get a new 3.0-liter V-6 engine that delivers 240 hp. The Sport version gets a 263-hp V-6 Duratec engine, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift. Prices range from $19,270 to $27,270. ConclusionThe 2010 Mitsubishi Galant is entering the 2010 model year, but not as big as making us buying the car. The sedan features indeed a soft ride and the roomy interior, but its exterior design has nothing to attract you. The car offers a respectable ride, not an impressive one and the 4-speed automatic transmission is old and boring. This makes the car being perfect for a single-day drive, and nothing more. The rear sets do not offer enough space, the interior looks cheap and the technology inside the car, including the navigation system looks out-dated. So, our opinion, if you want to buy a car take a look to its competitors.
10 comments: Mitsubishi Galant Impressive, a truck that has a speed of Mitsubishi Galant. I hope those rotor and brake pads can deal with that kind of speed.
Unless there’s going to be a 550hp motor in it, it’s still going to be a . This game is already being played by the X5M and
Mitsu Galant lives up to its name..Solid and clean lines..Moves very smoothly on road..Comfortable and built for serving the purpose of a family sedan. This car is definitely on your list of options if you are aiming for a midsized family SUV..It’s base price is $28,000 and is definitely a bang for your buck! Watch out for this SUV! http://011-mitsubishi-galant.html I didn’t even know Mitsubishi SOLD cars here anymore? That 2200 must of included every car they sold in the last THREE years. WHo really cares though. Toyota has the recall game cornerd.
I was driving yesterday and thinking about what you might called "ghost" cars— cars that are still being made but are pretty much invisible. My top two were the Eclipse and Galant (though, for the life of me, I could not remember the word "Galant".
maybe Mitsubishi should bring back the old style of galant’s headlights it’ll make the car look more aggressive, also I like the way they change the inside of the car, it rocks.
I doubt this refresh will do much to improve the Galant’s standing in the midsize sedan segment. A full redesign, with a serious rethink on styling, can’t come soon enough
Galant loses its V-6 engine choice along with its sports-themed trim levels, It might get lost in the Camry/Accord debates, but that doesn’t mean the Galant should be completely overlooked.
ulgy, mitsubishi ruined the reputation of galant. i like the older model, it looks like a normal car.
