2012 Mosler Raptor

US-based automaker Mosler has made a name for itself by building reconfigured race cars for street purposes. Some of these models include the MT900 GTR and the MT900 GTR XX (pictured above). Now, the niche sports car builder from Florida is reportedly in the process of developing and building a new supercar that will weigh no more than 2,000 lbs. The lightweight bullet - it’s being touted the ’Raptor’ - is poised to carry a 7.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces around 650 horsepower.

Details surrounding the Raptor’s design are still being kept under wraps, but we don’t expect it to be too far a departure from the existing models on the company’s fleet. We do expect it to be light as a feather, though, relative to its predecessors. That enormous power-to-weight ratio should make for a supercar than can smoke the rest of its peers, allowing them to eat its proverbial dust.

We’ll keep you posted on the latest updates and development news surrounding Mosler and the new Raptor sports car when it becomes available.

Really one of the exceptional car concept I truly appreciate how they made the car ideal for many and very powerful.

A bit of Ferrari? I think no. We all know that most super cars have that kind of look. Even a sports car is just like that. I think the design of the car is just a standard idea. The article did not tell that this car got some concept from Ferrari.

One thing that I notice about these smaller car manufacturers is that their designs are actually following that of the larger ones. This one, in particular, appears to have a bit of Ferrari in it.

Well, it has a very unique design and appearance. The color makes the car more impressive. However,it would be better if the speed performance is extreme powerful as well.

hmm. For a v8 technology I think 600+ hp is quite awesome! But knowing that its gas guzzler, I would say no on this car since there are other car that is fuel efficient and yet has an awesome performance.

I think I have seen already that platform and its not that beautiful. However, this car has an incredible speed performance though its freaking gas guzzler.
