Last year, Daniel Chinchilla Ochoa and Alberto Fernandez Albilares developed the Lamborghini Indomable Concept at the Scuola Politecnica di Design Master. It was a ruggedly handsome concept completed in collaboration with Lamborghini and inspired by stealth jetfighters. No one ever thought that this concept would actually ever make it to the production line, and technically, it won't. Not under Lamborghini anyway. 215 Racing - we'd be shocked if anyone ever heard of them - has purchased the rights to the Indomable and are planning to put the concept into production in a limited run of 50 units. Each unit will be priced at $950,000.

The Indomable will be making its production entrance under the name Mostro Di-Potenza SF22, showing the supercar's connection with the F22 Raptor. Mostro Di-Potenza is 215 Racing's sub company and their name means Monster Power in Italian, which is more than fitting considering this vehicle is prepared to take on no less than 2,000 HP. With this insane output just waiting to be utilized, the SF22 will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds and will be capable of a top speed of 265 mph - 2 mph slower than the fastest supercar in the world, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.

Updated 10/19/2011 }}: 215 Racing/ Mostro Di-Potenza has confirmed today that they have finally signed a partnership with Lamborghini LatinoAmerica meaning that the beautiful 2000HP SF-22 concept drawing will become a reality as a 2013 Lamborghini. The company is still looking for a name, but it will keep SF-22 because it pays homage to the fighter jet that inspired the design. There will be 23 to 24 cars built annually and there are hopes for a 2 years run.

Exterior and Interior

The new SF22 is a two door coupe that will offer interior room for two adults. It measures 4460mm in length, 1905mm in width, 1230mm in height, and has a 2650mm wheelbase. The SF22 features an impressive exterior design with huge front intake funnels that facilitate cooling of the huge 14" Disc and 6 piston Brake calipers. The rear tail lights double as an airfoil that help disrupt airflow to assist in reducing drag. The interior gets a roomier cockpit to fit a larger, taller operator and passenger.

"We knew that entering a market as a new supercar company has become a rarely successful trend. We hope to make our niche by offering the customers something they could never imagine," said Anthony Crudup, Chief Executive Officer, 215 Racing/ Mostro Di-Potenza.

Engine

The Mostro Di-Potenza SF22 is promising no less than 2,000 HP under its shiny hood, so the perfect engine had to be chosen to ensure success in that department. Mostro Di-Potenza's pick was a twin-turbo 572 GM engine that will send its power to the rear wheels via a 6 speed billet sequential transmission. Thanks to a Carbon-fiber/Kevlar monocoque and a total weight of 3000 lbs, the SF22 will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds and will hit a top speed of 265 mph. However, despite the fact that it develops about 800 HP more than the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, the SF22 can't break the BUgatti's world speed record.

Prices

The American super car maker - which is weird considering their name is in Italian - will produce two units per month until they max out at 50 units. 215 Racing is currently accepting preorders for the supercar, which is scheduled to show its face in mid-2012. Prices will start at $950,000.

Competition

With 2000 HP under the hood, one would assume that competitors for the SF22 would be scarce, but Mostro Di-Potenza will be building this machine so it can go up against some of the fastest cars on the world. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and the SSC Ultimate Aero II has been targeted as such.

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport boasts of 1200 HP and has recently entered the Guinness Book of Records with an average top speed of 431 km/h (267 mph). On the other hand, the 1350HP Aero II is looking to steal that title away with a world record of 275 mph, but has yet to accomplish it.

The Mostro Di-Potenza SF22 is a cheaper alternative to both of these models - the Bugatti goes for $2.4 million and the Aero II sells at $970,000 - but a claim of 2,000 HP is something that we will have to see to believe. Add that to the fact that no one has ever heard of 215 Racing and we're a little hesitant to believe that any of it will be true. Then again, a new super car is nothing to shy away from. Let's just say we look forward to 215 Racing proving us wrong.
