Nissan 370Z roadster rendering

Nissan 370Z roadster rendering

We recently confirmed the Nissan 370Z roadster will make its world debut at the New York Auto Show and also saw the patent sketches of the car. It’s not too hard to imagine what drop top car will look like. The exterior of the 350Z and the 370Z coupes don’t appear that different, so squinting at a 350z roadster will give you a pretty good idea about what will be in New York.

But before you go straining your eyes, GlobalMotors went ahead and did the work for you. It may not look like a lot of new bits, but we’re suckers for an excuse to bring up the 370Z’s great 332 hp 3.7-liter V6 engine.

First Nissan 370Z commercial

Nissan has revealed the first U.S. commercial of the 370Z sports car. Nothing earth-shattering in this commercial, but we get to see the car do some very ad-friendly maneuvers and hit some good exhaust notes.

The 370Z is powered by a 3.7-liter VQ37VHR engine with Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL) rated at 332 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic with Downshift Rev Matching (DRM) and Adaptive Shift Control (ASC). Nissan 370Z Branew

Nissan 370Z Branew

Detroit is not the only car show going on next month. The Tokyo Auto Salon (think Japan’s SEMA) will start on January 9th. On of the first features we’re getting in is the tuner Branew’s take on the Nissan 370Z.

Although the 370Z is not in dealerships yet, but Branew already has a kit with new carbon fiber front spoiler, side steps, rear spoiler and rear wing. It also gets Titan & Stainless Exhaust and 20, 21 or 22-inch wheels. a new computer tune, new suspension kit and new brake system compete the modifications. This is not the first modification program we’ve seen for the 370Z, but the last one was direct from the factory with NISMO’s 370Z.

No word yet on pricing or how this will effect the 370Z’s 332 hp. As we know more, we’ll pass it along.

Nissan releases official pricing of 370Z Nismo S-Tune Package

Also we know the Nismo S-Tune Performance Package is focusing on on better performance by adding a new exhaust system, 19" Nismo wheels, S-Tune suspension and improved brakes.

The only thing we didn’t know was the price.

Now we can finally drop this, or at least until a new image gallery is released...

Nissan 370Z Stylish Package

Nissan 370Z Stylish Package

All you fanboys out there who think if ‘it comes from Japan, it’s gold’, then take a look at a new body kit from Nissan. This is a Japan-only kit for the Fairlady Z (ya know, the 370Z) and its called the Stylish Package.

Although it may make your 370Z may look faster, unlike Nismo S-tune, this comes with no performance upgrades. Instead this is just a new front spoiler, a rear wing with an integrated third-stop light, clear crystal rear tail lamps, and ’Z’ scruff plates. There is also a new ’sports horn’, because it’s not enough to just look unique but you have to sound unique as well?

Either way, getting your hands on theses parts directly from Japan will make your 370Z pretty exclusive for a few weeks, until some major tuner (or Nissan) decides to import this package on its own.

Nissan 370Z - 0 to 60 in 4.7 seconds

Nissan 370Z - 0 to 60 in 4.7 seconds

Motor Trend was able to be the first to get its hands on the Nissan 370Z to put it through the paces. The big number to come from the actual testing is that the 370Z officially made the the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 4.7 seconds (predictions had it around five seconds.) Other key figures include, quarter mile: 13.3 seconds @ 105.7 mph and 60 to 0 mph: 106 ft.

What makes this special is the Motor Trend also put the 334 hp, $34,000 Nissan up against the 510 hp, $278,000 Aston Martin DBS. Although the Aston is quicker to 60 mph by a small margin (DBS does it 4.2 seconds,) The 370Z holds its own pretty well for a car that cost $244,000 less.

Nissan 370 Nismo - new images

The last time we saw images of the Nissan’s 370 Z Nismo S-Tune, they were obviously shot from a studio, and we were not sure how much could be believed. After all, the Nismo car came close on the heels of the regular 370 Z’s introduction. Now we can see it’s a fully-baked package as the in-house tuner car sees the light of day.

There are two different packages: Nismo S-Tune Aero Package and Nismo S-Tune Performance Package. Nismo S-Tune Aero Package it is focused on improving the aerodynamics, which comes in the form of a new front spoiler, side skirts and rear spoiler. The Nismo S-Tune Performance Package is focusing on on better performance by adding a new exhaust system, Nismo wheels 19", S-Tune suspension and improved brakes.
