In 2004, the same year as with the Armada->ke551, Nissan->ke62 has brought on the market the Titan->ke482 pick-up. Contested by some people, loved by others, the Titan was and still is one of the most impressive pick-ups out there. Despite the fact it is only being offered in King Cab or a Crew Cab versions, Nissan Titan has been selected as the North American Truck of the Year.
The Titan shares the same Nissan F-Alpha platform with the Nissan Armada and is being powered by a 5.6-liter DOHC Endurance V8 rated at 317 horsepower and 385 lb-ft torque (305 HP for models launched before 2006). Its top speed is being limited to 115 mph and offers towing capacity of up to 9,500 pounds for King Cab and 9,400 pounds for Crew Cab (when properly equipped).
Nissan Titan is being offered in four trim levels: S, SV, Pro-4x, and SL, with prices for the 2012 model year starting from $29,960.

The exterior and the interior
The Nissan Titan hasn't changed much over the years. For example it received an improved interior in 2008 and in 2009 a matte black finish grille and body-color front bumper, but significant changes were never being offered.
The pick-up comes in two or four doors versions and features one of the most innovative designs on the market today: Wide-Open rear doors (King Cab) that open 168 degrees for nearly unlimited interior access.
For 2012 Nissan is offering a new Sport Appearance Package that includes 20-inch SL aluminum-alloy wheels and front grille with Dark Hyper Silver finish, body-color front and rear bumpers, black step rails, cloth seat trim with embroidered Titan logo, lockable bedside storage compartment, body side sport "Titan" graphic, white-faced gauges, fog lights, Captain’s Chairs and center console.
The engine
As with the other Nissan model built on the F-Alpha platform, the Titan is powered by a 5.6-liter Endurance V8 rated at 317 HP and 385 lb-ft torque. 2004 - 2006 models delivers a total of 305 HP, but with the 2007 model year the engine has received an increase to both the bell mouth radius on the air cleaner and the port diameter of the intake manifold, helping produce increased 317 HP.
The engine is combined with either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive systems and comes mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission and offers a maximum towing capacity of up to 9,500 pounds for King Cab and 9,400 pounds for Crew Cab.
Top speed is electronically limited to 115 mph, and the sprint from 0 to 60 mph is being made in 6.7 seconds.

The competition
When it comes about buying a pick-up, we have to be honest and admit that the best buy is the Ford F-150. He comes in different version so that even the most exigent customers will find what they are looking for. The truck looks much better than the Titan and comes with two engines to choose from: 3.7-liter V6 powerplant with 302 HP and 278 pound-feet of torque and a 6.2-liter V8. This beast churns out 411 HP and 434 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is also more from our days: a 6R80 six-speed automatic.
Of course that if you do not like the F-150 you can also opt for the Chevrolet Silverado. It is powered by a 6.6 Liter Duramax diesel engine mated to a heavy duty Allison 1000 six speed transmission and sprint from 0 to 60 mph in under 9 seconds.
