For 2007, the sixth generation Maxima continues to live on the cutting edge, with a redesigned exterior, a refined premium interior, intuitive next generation technology features and the adoption of standard, performance-based Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) on all models. Key changes and enhancements for 2007 begin with the redesigned exterior, which features a new front grille, hood, headlights, front and rear bumpers, and more aggressive side sills. Other exterior changes include a more prominent rear spoiler (standard on the SE model), new 17-inch and 18-inch 7-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels, redesigned quad tailpipe finishers and fog lights in place of the previous cornering lights. Maxima’s unique SkyView glass paneled roof continues in 2007 as standard equipment. Maxima’s interior enhancements are equally aggressive, adding a higher level of quality, luxury and sportiness to match the refined exterior. The instrument panel features a redesigned center stack with improved control ergonomics and a new Fine Vision gauge display for easier readability. The seats offer larger shoulder bolsters and a new, sporty sew pattern and the sliding center armrest has been redesigned for greater comfort and convenience. The use of upgraded materials includes real aluminum accents and available perforated leather on SE models. Comfort and convenience additions include a new Intelligent Key, auxiliary AV input jack, available CD autochanger with mp3 playback capability, new center console box design and available reverse sensor with audible warning. The heart of the new Maxima remains its powerful, award-winning 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine, now rated at 255 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque. The 2007 Maxima is offered in two models, the 3.5 SE and 3.5 SL, and offers a wide range of premium luxury equipment, including available factory-installed satellite radio Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone System, outside dual auto-dimming mirrors with auto-tilt down in reverse, and DVD-based navigation system with 7-inch color display. The new Maxima goes on sale in early summer 2006. Highlights of the 2007 Maxima include: Body

Just not quite up to par. However the power is very nice, I have no control issues, and amazingly enough the CVT auto stick still allows a nice 6.75 second 0-60 time (Data from a friends Garmin
G. J Carter (in Georgia) Purchased from Tanner-Deen Nissan in Albany, GA (Thanks "Woody"All and Stacey. (6686) - Posted on 11.30.2006 I currently own a 2004 Nissan Maxima SE (Gold). Prior to this vehichle, I owned the 2001 Nissan Maxima (grey). When I test-drove my current vehichle, I immediately fell in love with it! I also have the skyview model. It is awesome!! I get so much attention when I am crusing along (smile). I feel sexy and alive. Keep up the good work...
(6686) - Posted on 11.29.2006 I am in my 2nd month of a 24 month lease on a 2007 Nissan Maxima and can’t wait for my lease to end. The steering is horrendous!!! The car pulls either which way and refuses to stay on the road. It’s like walking a disobedient dog. If I look off the road for a second, the car flies off the road. I drive the car with 2 hands focusing on the road like an 80 year old lady. Both wrists absolutely kill me after I take a trip of more than 20-25 miles. Anyone who drives the car (except the dealership) concurs. The dealer tells me there is nothing wrong with my vehicle. If the dealer is correct, shame on Nissan for putting out such an utterly disgraceful vehicle.
Tyler (6686) - Posted on 11.25.2006 Power in the Maxima wasn’t decreased. SAE horsepower and torque measurement methods were changed, thus prompting a decrease in power, albeit the engine has remained completely unchanged (energy generation-wise). Your Maxima’s engine is essentially no different from the new Maxima’s engine. The 02-06 Altima’s I-4 was producing MUCH lower figures on dynos than it was rated by Nissan for. For 07, the figures remain the same, but they’re MUCH more accurate if you put the car on a dyno. Intake and exhaust modification are the two main things that caused a change. Sometimes, changing numbers (or a lack thereof) can be slightly misleading. SAD CUSTUMER (6686) - Posted on 10.24.2006 I JUST TRADED IN MY 2005 ALTIMA SE-R FOR A 2007 MAXIMA AND I AM TRULY DISAPOINTED WITH THE LACK OF PERFORMANCE AS WELL AS STYLE AS SOON AS I CAN I WILL TRY TO GET BACK MY SE-R I MISS HIM
(6686) - Posted on 08.20.2006 I must say that after test driving an ’07 Maxima I put my foot in my mouth. I was so anti CVT when I heard about it. After I gave the ’07 Maxima a chance I instantly fell in love with the car. It is amazingly comfortable and very quick. Granted that it may not be as quick as a 5-speed auto Maxima but it comes extremely close.
The CVT also toned down the torque steer substantially in the Maxima. I currently own a 2003 Infiniti I35 Sport, and while the car attracts a lot of looks I need a car that will entice me to take long trips. My back is just moaning in pain from driving the I35 for almost 8 months now.
I am itching to get into one of these ’07 Maximas. This just goes to show you that Nissan has some of the world’s best engineers. I thought they took a shot in the dark at putting the CVT in the Maxima but they knew EXACTLY what they were doing because I am absolutely going crazy waiting until I can buy one for myself.
(6686) - Posted on 08.7.2006 Today, 8/6/6 just drove home my brand new 07 Maxima SE, traded in my 04 350Z..hated to see it go but I absolutely love my Maxima, extremely smooth and powerful engine, New front end is awesome to look at..I originaly was going to get an M35 but the 07 Maxima looks just as good. This car is a great buy for anyone..go check it out!
(6686) - Posted on 08.5.2006 Just bought a new 2007 Maxima SL. The CVT transmission is awesome. It makes the car feel like one of the high torque luxury sedans like a Jaguar XJ or BMW 7 series. It’s very fast and extremely smooth. We also have a 2002 Maxima SE with 110,000 miles that we are keeping. Big differences between the two. The 2007 is larger, high detail on interior appointments. We absolutely love it.
(6686) - Posted on 07.22.2006 ive owned every maxima body style except the 04 mode...i would love to see a rear wheel drive 330+ hp limited edition 6 speed...v8........might be pushin it but...bottom line hp sells cars.i have a 01 super charged....o’man.......wooooooo!! super fast 5 speed manual
(6686) - Posted on 06.7.2006 I own a 2004 Maxima. It has a 265 hp V6 which performs very well. I can’t understand why Nissan would choose to decrease the horsepower on the new Maxima. I do however, like the new front fascia.
(6686) - Posted on 05.9.2006 I think the idea of the new CVT transmission in the SE model will kill sales. People are gonna want the shift shock of a manual transmission or the smooth shifting 5 speed automatic. The CVT might be good as an option but not standard, The six speed manual in the Maxima can offer the performance and raw power of the 350 Z, but with 4 doors not two. I think Maxima sales will drop, when i get my next one it won’t be brand new due to the fact i dont like the idea of the CVT as the transmission in the new maxima. My Maxima will be either a 2004-2006
