2010 Nissan GT-R Alpha 10 by AMS Performance

  Review

AMS Performance must never sleep. Just last month they revealed the Alpha 9 package for the Nissan GT-R that took the standard 530mph and pushed it to 650! Apparently not pleased with that kind of record-breaking performance, AMS has gone one step further and released details for its new Alpha 10 package. This package takes the power boost to an extreme level by increasing it 110%. For you non-math majors, that’s 1100hp! In preliminary testing AMS Performance shattered the World Record for Quickest and Fastest GT-R running a 9.3 at 153mph in the quarter mile with a full weight street car. The car even made it to 150 MPH in just under a quarter of a mile!

In order to obtain this fanatical increase, the tuner added a new AMS Turbo System and a new transmission prepared by Sheptrans.com with the latest Dodson and PPG components. AMS also added a new race exhaust, upgraded fuel injectors, an AMS calibration map dialed in for your car, K&N Air Filters, AMS turbo inlet pipes, and AMS upgraded MAF sensors. This Nissan GT-R can run on both pump gas and race gas!

What’s even better is that AMS Performance has already started working on the Alpha 12 package for the Nissan GT-R! It’s like Christmas in October!

I already know that the GT-R can be easily tweaked for better performance, but I didn’t know that you can push it this far. Over a thousand hp is certainly sick for this car.

It is a great price for its capabilities. Their 600hp package is a great deal more affordable ($6500).

The faster you try to go, the more it takes to get you there..

Yeah, that’s neat and all but IMO, the difference in performance from what I’ve seen in some "near-stock" GT-R’s isn’t worth the effort. Again, this just shows how amazing the GT-R is right from the factory. I still don’t really like the car but you have to respect what Nissan has accomplished.
