2010 Nissan GT-R Safety Car


No less than ’Godzilla’ himself will be used as as the official Safety Car for the British Superbike Championship (BSB). The BSB will be using two Nissan GT-R Nissan GT-R s to look after a field of 200bhp Superbikes. In addition to the GT-R, the BSB will also be using two Qashqai+2 medical cars will provide fast medical intervention.

Nissan GT-R will be a fantastic safety car, with its outstanding performance and technology. Our newly introduced Nissan NV200 compact van, which recently received the International Van of the Year Award will provide excellent logistics support to the series, as it is already doing to hundreds of customers throughout the UK," he adds.

The MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship (BSB) has chosen the UK’s largest car producer, Nissan for the coveted status of its official vehicle supplier.

The agreement between BSB series commercial rights holder MSVR and Nissan Motor GB covers the 2010 and 2011 seasons and will see a fleet of twelve vehicles comprising seven different models deployed in various demanding roles.

Two 3.8 Nissan GTRs, each capable of 190mph will act as safety cars, ready to be dispatched to control a field of 200bhp Superbikes and to chase the first racing lap.

Two Qashqai+2 medical cars will provide fast medical intervention.

A 3.7 V6 370Z and a 3.5 Murano will act as course cars for the Race Director and other track officials whilst the winners will be paraded in a Navara.

Nissan’s award-winning LCV fleet will provide trackside and logistics support utilising the International Van of the Year, the NV200 and Interstar models.

I guess British Super bikes Championship has shown some pretty great taste opting for a full Nissan fleet of vehicles for the 2010 and 2011 seasons.

It’s a good choice though there are a lot of super cars out their that also have the right to be a safety car, i must say that the gt-r’s performance are way better than the rest.

This sounds fascinating. I’m familiar with safety car concepts. They sounded great! I’m guessing they’re quite different from the other safety cars . Looking forward to hearing more.

They just picked the right safety car. A good choice for high speed turning and sprint.
