2011 Nissan R35 GT-R Olsson Winter Edition

  Review

Jon Olsson is a man of many talents. A Swedish free skier and alpine ski racer, Olsson also shares with us a fascination for building cars, or to be more precise, tuning supercars and turning them into vehicles that suit his lifestyle.

He’s already made our pages with his work on a Lamborghini Gallardo earlier this year and now that winter is fast approaching in many parts of the world, Olsson is back to unveil his latest work, the Nissan R35 GT-R Olsson Winter Edition.

According to Olsson, the work on this R35 GT-R included the addition of a roof box – it’s similar to the one on his Gallardo – and golden decals stickered in various parts of the GT-R, making for a perfect contrast to Godzilla’s exterior black finish. In addition to the aesthetic additions, Olsson also added a custom exhaust on the GT-R thereby adding better performance capabilities to a car that already comes with a 3.8-liter DOHC V6 engine producing 530 horsepower.

Olsson calls this particular version the ‘NR 1’ and says that, while some modifications have already been made, his work on it is far from finished. The skier said - with a sly winking emoticon, no less – that we can “expect some more things to happen to this little thing later in the year…”

While we appreciate the suspense, we would’ve loved it if Mr. Olsson weren’t such a tease (attach winking emoticon here).

It looks so cool on its graphics even on its body paint. It’s a good thing as well that they use an efficient and powerful engine for this one. Anyway, did they already put it on the market?

530 horsepower is already impressive on this Nissan R35. Well, I must say that I’m really so impressed on this ski racer. However, I wonder if what will be its interior looks like?

I like the sportiness of this vehicle just like for a typical Nissan car! And as expected, the speed performance of this car was boosted up to an incredible figure.

It sounds weird that a “Swedish” skier promotes a Japanese car.hehe This is my not first time seeing a winter inspired vehicle. However, the speed performance of the v6 engine here is quite impressive for an outdated technology.

I wonder why Olsson choose a Japanese car instead of a Swiss car? BTW, for  a v6 technology  I think 500+ hp  is quite impressive. I hope in their next production they will be using a more modern technology.

I hope they attached a video. BTW, I agree that this car doesn’t need a talented skier to make it appealing to out eye! Knowing its a Nissan GTR, I think there’s no more reason to question this car.

Sounds good. But I actually buy something really reasonable. You have a point in here, a little bit cheaper and am sure everybody will consider buying this one.

We already knew that Nissan suits for family Or, should we call it a “family car”. But what I loved most are the superb features of all their units. I would rather say that it’s really one of the most beautiful cars that I’ve ever seen.

The design is impressive and those wheels looks so impressive. That dual exhaust makes the R35 look more aggressive! I just wonder how this car performs in the road.

I’m really love how Nissan stepped it up! And I think this will be the ending of the driver’s car. After putting those computer driven specs, well, I guess this mean less input from the driver..how boring!
