JR Motorsports developed a special Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 for the upcoming GT Tour (French GT). This decision comes after a successful trial of a car in the opening rounds of GT Tour and will be followed by a possible entry in the Blancpain series later in the year. Not a big surprise here, considering JRM previously developed cars for Blancpain, British GT, VLN and FIA GT series.

The car is still under development, but the company hopes to have it done in time for the next round at Spa. This collaboration between Nissan->ke62 and JRM comes after running the GT-R at Le Mans and Imola, and both companies hope to achieve the awesome results from this long-term commitment.

"Having a prestigious team such as JMB Racing opt for the Nissan, after many years of success Ferrari and Maserati, underlines the competitive package and affordability the Nissan GT-R->ke1592 Nismo GT3 offers," says James Rumsey, JRM Group executive director.

Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3

The GT-R Nismo GT3 is powered by the same engine as the standard version: a 3.8-liter V-6 twin-turbo engine mated to a Hewland six-speed sequential gearbox. However, for the GT3 the output was increased to 530 horsepower.

The model is also equipped with a series of features required by a race car, including: a set of 18-inch RAYS center-lock, aluminum forged wheels; and a set of Brembo brakes. There is also a new exhaust system with a new side-exit pipe and an optional catalytic converter.

Nissan also installed a specially developed aerodynamic kit that includes new front splitter, bumper, flat floor and an adjustable rear wing.
