It looks like many automaker have used the 2013 Detroit Auto Show to preview their future design language, and Nissan is one of them. Their new Resonance Concept previews the "future direction of Nissan->ke62 crossovers with smart, edgy design."

The exterior features a new V-Motion design language that includes the front grille, the hood and of course the new boomerang shaped headlights. What we really like about the new concept is that very cool Flare Orange exterior paint combined with the 22 aluminum-alloy wheels with Satin Chrome accents. The interior features a "VIP lounge" look and includes buttery leather and premium-stitched seats, an advanced instrument panel and a open glass roof.

The new Resonance is of course a hybrid vehicle: it combines a smaller displacement internal combustion gasoline engine with an electric motor

Exterior

When creating their new Resonance concept, Nissan took its inspiration from the futuristic allure of hypersonic travel. It combines "powerful surfaces with provocative lines" in an attempt to offer a very spacious impression.

The car's front has been designed with the new V-Motion design language in mind and includes new front grille, hood and the iconic boomerang shaped headlights. The concept also features a steeply raked A-pillars, large full-length glass panel and flowing D-pillar design that together provide the impression of a flowing structure.

The concept is painted in a very cool Flare Orange exterior paint combined with 22 aluminum-alloy wheels featuring Satin Chrome accents.

Interior

The interior has been specially designed for those whom are looking for a luxury feeling in a crossover model. As a result, the new Resonance concept has been equipped with buttery leather and premium-stitched seats and an advanced instrument panel that allows the driver to access all infotainment and communication features.

The entire interior features a very dramatic combination of illumination highlights the natural wood pattern and offers the impression of a very modern cabin. There is also an open glass roof that offer passengers a unique panoramic view of the exterior.

Hybrid powertrain

Under the hood of the new Resonance concept Nissan has placed an efficient hybrid electric drivetrain built around Nissan's proprietary "one-motor, two-clutch" system. This system combines a smaller displacement internal combustion gasoline engine with an electric motor.

The engine is mated to Nissan's next-generation Xtronic CVT transmission and send the power to all four wheels via an all-wheel drive system.

When can I drive one?

If you fall for the new Resonance concept we have a bad news for you: it won't be put into production; or at least this is what Nissan claims right now. It has only been designed to provide a glimpse on the future direction of Nissan crossovers with smart, edgy design. Its design language will inspire future generations of Rouge->ke2176 or Murano->ke552.
