2012 Arrinera Venocara Concept

  Review

For the most part, most of today’s supercars call the European continent their home. The growing trend of these high-powered machines has stretched far and wide in the continent with established countries like Germany, Italy, and the UK being joined in the supercar arms race by Sweden, Denmark, and Spain, among other countries.

Now you can add Poland to the mix.

The country best known for their polish sausages is set to introduce their very first supercar courtesy of Arrinera Automotive. The name for this Lamborghini-inspired beast hasn’t been announced yet, but Arrinera has nonetheless released a number of renderings to give us a first look on what to expect when this Polish hammer hits the streets in the future.

UPDATE 02/10/12: Arrinera has unveiled a new video that takes us behind the scenes of the official video previously unveiled. The video depicts the enormous effort made by the producer Lazniak.com as well as the Arrinera team. Hit the jump to watch the video.

UPDATE 05/02/12: Arrinera has officially released the final specs of the Venocara Supercar, as well as the pricing details for it. Find out how powerful this Polish supercar really is and how big of a hole it’s going to have on your pockets after the jump!

This review has been updated with official details of the Arrinera Supercar

Exterior

Your eyes aren’t fooling you; the Arrinera supercar looks a hell of a lot like a Lamborghini. But despite the similarities, the Arrinera also sports some unique styling cues that’s all its own, including a dramatic body language that came from the creative mind of Pavlo Burkatskyy. The full use of creases and sharp angles affirms the supercar’s aggressive and futuristic stance while the scissor doors reinforce the Lamborghini-like inspiration behind the design. Even the rear end, despite its high-flowing styling cues, points to a little touch-up from the Aventador. The striped LED tail lamp-set up, the large diffuser, and the centrally mounted exhausts are sharp as tacks and certainly draws a great deal of attention.

The Arrinerar will ride on a tubular steel chassis and will come with a carbon Kevlar body with plenty of carbon fiber and aluminum accents. It will glide along the streets with large diameter light alloy wheels wrapped around ultra low profile tires, 255/30 R19 at the front and 335/30 R20 at the rear. Stopping power will come from Ceramic brake discs.

Interior

Inside, the Arrinera supercar is covered to the nines of luxury and extravagance. Leather and composite materials are only two of the many items inside the supercar that caters to high-end customers. The supercar also include four-point harnesses and roll bars positioned behind the seats for additional safety while a thermal imaging camera can be had as an added option. This camera picks up any object that has a higher temperature than the environment up to 100 meters ahead of the car. When this human or animal is picked up by the camera, an image of the object will show up on the display neatly displayed in the center console.

Performance

The Arrinera Supercar is powered by a 6.2-liter, mid-mounted V8 engine that delivers 650 horsepower and 604 lb/ft of torque. According to Arrinera, the prized machine has beyond impressive numbers to justify the monstrous engine. Acceleration from 0-62 mph can be accomplished in just 3.2 seconds with a quarter-mile time of 11 seconds and a top speed of a mind-blowing 211 mph. It’s not in the level of the Agera R’s and Veyron’s of the world, but it can certainly hold its own against the likes of the 458 Italia and the MP4-12C.

Pricing

The Arrinera Venocara Supercar comes with a price of $160,060, excluding destination charges and local taxes.

Meanwhile, a possible second model - a roadster version - is set to be offered in either single or two-seat configurations and weighing only under 500 kg. This particular model, despite still being clouded in mystery, is expected to retail for ₤70,000 ($111,000).

Competition

Since the Arrinera supercar reminds us of a Lamborghini, then why don’t we just see if the former has what it takes to usurp the latter’s precious new creation, the Aventador LP700-4. Clearly, this is the ultimate example of an upstart trying to make a name for itself at the expense of what is considered as one of the most iconic supercar brands in the world today.

In terms of looks, the Arrinera supercar doesn’t disappoint; it actually makes a pretty compelling design that has the influence of no less than Lee Noble. Comparing it to the Aventador is like comparing a hot girl with her beautiful cousin; it’s subject to interpretation and taste more than anything else. Both score great on our eyes with the Aventador’s front profile being a little ’angrier’ than the Arrinera while the Polish supercar’s rear end sporting more attitude than its Lambo counterpart.

Performance is where the Aventador has the leg-up, albeit not by much. It carries a 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces 700 horsepower and 509 lb/ft of torque, which is a little higher than what the Arrinera is capable of.

But the biggest discrepancy between the two is arguably the most important thing about cars of these stature: price.

Compared to the Lamborghini Aventador’s price tag of $379,700, the Arrinera supercar will only set you back less than half of what you’ll need to shell out for the new Lamborghini. But that’s not to say that the former is overpriced because you still have to pay premium money for the brand itself. But if image isn’t your concern and you’re just looking for a sweet alternative to the more expensive exotics, the Arrinera supercar could be a very feasible candidate.

 Powerful engine
 Impressive exterior design
Not that expensive compared to others

 Production is still sometime away
 Limited production basis

With all the supercars that have been released this year, I wonder which country would be next in launching their own car. I think both China and Japan has yet to do that one.

Wow, they are actually rolling out the first prototype. I would say that that was certainly fast. I thought this one won’t be ready up until next year.

Hey, when are they going to release this one? It actually looks quite promising. Hope to see this one competing with the likes of the Aventador and the Huayra.

And I thought that it would look good only in the rendering. Well, I guess that I am totally wrong, this car actually looks awesome in real life. Hope that it performs well.

Making a name  in the world of super cars is quite a hard task for I think all you want and need in a certain car was already out in the market and having a unique platform is not that easy. For Arrinera Venocara, I hope they would come up with their own look for I can see that this car is similar to Ferrari/Mercedes/ Lamborghini.

This car is truly the world’s finest polish supercar. As Poland join the world of supercars, I think there is a lot of work to be done for other countries.

Well, one thing good about this one is that there will be a lot more options for supercar fanatics hear. I only wish that this one would actually be a supercar in terms of performance and not just looks.

Well, let’s just see when they will be able to release this one. Hopefully, they will be able to release this one very soon, so that we can see how well this would actually perform.

Would you look at that, this one actually looks a bit like the Lamborghini Gallardo. That’s really one of the things that I don’t quite dig at times, a lot of the supercars nowadays look similar to each other.
