If you're squinting your eyes wondering if you've seen this car before, then we'll spare you the brain-racking. This retro-looking luxury car is the Bufori Geneva and it carries that "Geneva" name because it actually made its debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show->ke228.

More than two years after it first made waves at a major auto show, the Malaysian automaker is bringing the Geneva back for its grand Asian debut at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show->ke2062.

For the re-created model that was built exclusively for Tan Sri Yeoh Tiong, founder of the YTL Corporation, Bufori spared no expense in bringing up the level of luxury. The overall design of the vehicle remains largely unchanged, particularly the retro-classic look that further pays tribute to old luxury courtesy of the rear-hinged coach doors and the carbon and kevlar body. Meanwhile, the interior - with all its leather goodness - of the Geneva carries a high-level of class usually reserved for the Bentley's and Rolls Royce's of the world. Check out the built-in fridge at the back, the wooden trays, the ample legroom, and the plush leather treatment as clear signs that the Geneva isn't just your ordinary sedan.

Exterior

By its sheer look alone, the Bufori Geneva shouldn't be mistaken for anything else other than a luxury car. And to their credit, Bufori designed it as such, carrying various components that you wouldn't be able to find in any other vehicle.

The overall body of the car is made from carbon fiber and kevlar and carries a single tone metallic finish. Even the emblems and badges on the car all carry serious bling. The emblems, in particular, are made from 24K 99% pure gold plating while the badges are made from the same 24K 99% pure gold plating and stainless steel with blue zirconium sapphire.

Despite its classic look, the Bufori Geneva also features plenty of new-school technology, no more evident than the automatic lights set-up that includes bi-xenon headlights for high and low beam, driving lights, fog lights, and rear LED lights. Even the external rear view mirrors come with power folding and programmable reverse tilt. Finally, the Bufori Geneva sits on a set of 20" forged aluminum wheels wrapped in 245/45 R20 front tires and 255/45 R20 rear tires.

Interior

The interior of the Bufori Geneva is the picture of luxury, giving its British counterparts a run for their money, and we're not just talking about the fridge on the lounge center console.

Prime grade Bufori leather is visibly present in the interior, including in the seats and the steering wheel. Complimenting all that leather is a walnut burl dashboard, fascia, and wood finishing, and a Bufori-cut pile carpet that comes with leather binding on the front and lamb's wool floor mats on the rear.

The front and rear leather seats are all heated and fully adjustable, while the center console on the front comes with a a CD and handphone storage. Likewise, the rear center console comes with the same goodies, in addition to a pair of cup holders.

If the basic interior set-up of the Bufori Geneva isn't enough to tickle your fancy, you can opt to have optional features added. What about a coffee maker with instant boiling water for tea? Need some cups and glasses? How about a Coffeeware set with long and short cups, water glasses, and utensils? Or maybe you're the crystal type? If so, you can choose to add a Crystal Mini Bar set that comes with whiskey and wine glasses, carafes, and utensils.

Performance

Under its hood, the Geneva carries a pretty impressive 6.4-liter V8 engine that produces 470 horsepower and 465 lb/ft of torque, good enough for a 0-62 mph time of 5.4 seconds with a top speed of 174 mph.

Pricing

No word yet on how much Bufori is planning to sell the Geneva, but we assume that with all that luxury touches done on the car, we expect it to sell for a premium price. Not to the extent of a Rolls-Royce Ghost->ke3434 or a Bentley Continental->ke3108, but enough to justify its tag as a luxury car.

Competition

There are no illusions about what the Bufori Geneva is. At its core, it's a luxury car. But it's not one that could really step into the league of Bentley->ke15 or Rolls-Royce->ke74. And that may not be such a bad thing, because we expect the price for the Geneva to much cheaper than its British counterparts. So if anybody's looking for a retro-looking luxury car with modern posh amenities at a fraction of the price of a Ghost->ke3434 or Continental->ke3108, the Bufori Geneva is the car for you.
