Ron Automobile is a recently launched Mexican company with big plans for the future: it wants to develop high-performance vehicles that will make quite a sensation on the market. The new model is called RXX and today we have the first images of it.

According to the first details released by the company, the RXX will be a super-lightweight sporty two-seat sports car->ke506 built on an aluminum chassis. It will feature a carbon-fiber body and an interior built from the same material. This combination will ensure high rigidity and stroke sensations, but will also help to deliver a low center of gravity.

As for the car's exterior language, it will be a combination between "sensual curves and angled panels."

The model will be a road-legal car and will be offered in three different configurations: RXX, RXX-S and RXX-R, each of them offering a different level of power and equipment.

Ron announced it is also preparing a model inspired by the Lotus Seven. It will be called R7, but unfortunately it is still in the prototype->ke146 construction phase zero.

Competition

Caterham Seven 620 R

Talking about the RXX's competitors can be a little bit difficult when we have no specifications, but we do know there are lots of two-seater models out there to choose from. The latest one was announced by Caterham and it is called Seven 620 R.

It is powered by a 2.0-liter Ford Duratec engine that develops 311 horsepower and 219 pound-feet of torque. With this output the 620 R will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and will go up to a top speed of about 155 mph.

KTM X-Bow GT

One of our favorite two-seat track-inspired cars is, of course, the KTM X-Bow. It combines a great look with the right amount of power required by this type of car.

The latest version of the X-Bow is the GT. It is powered by a 2.0-liter TSFI four-banger that produces 281 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 309 pound-feet of torque at 3,200 rpm. The X-Bow GT can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds and up to a top speed of 143.5 mph.
