2014 Pagani Huayra Roadster

It wasn’t that long ago when Horacio Pagani confirmed that their latest Huayra supercar would indeed see a roadster version in about three years. And although this news doesn’t exactly surprise many of us who saw this car coming from a mile away, its potential look is something that can only be dreamed about. That is, unless you’re the impatient type and want to check out our rendering for a sneak peek at its design instead.

So, Pagani will slice and dice the roof off of their Huayra supercar and consequentially eliminate the gull wing doors, but little else will be changed at all. Expect the same carbon-titanium chassis, 700 HP twin-turbocharged engine, X-trac seven-speed sequential transmission, and all of the rest of the goodies that make the Huayra special. You can also expect slower performance times thanks to the added weight of the convertible roof, not that you would notice the difference as the wind barrels through your hair at high speeds.

UPDATE 04/01/2011: Check out our new renderings for the future Paganui Huayra Roadster!

Updated 02/19/2014: New details on the Huayra Roadster suggest that this version could be unveiled in March at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Stay tuned to see how the final version will look like. (Thesupercakids)

Exterior and Interior

Pagani Huayra

The Huayra Roadster will feature the same "wind" inspired design lines as the coupe. Remove the gullwing doors and the solid roof, then add a soft top, and there it is! The rest however will remain unchanged, albeit with a few updates here and there.

The interior of the supercar will be as luxurious as ever with the use of high-end leather, aluminum, and carbon fiber.

Engine

Pagani Huayra

Like with the coupe version, the Huayra roadster will be powered by the same AMG sourced 6 liter V12 Bi-Turbo engine that delivers a total of 700 HP and 737 lbs-ft of torque. The only problem with this engine setup is that it will suffer due to the added weight of the convertible roof. The coupe sprints from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds, so the roadster version will probably come in a bit higher than that. The coupe’s top speed of 220 mph will also suffer.

Prices

The Pagani Huayra coupe is priced at about $1.4 million, so the roadster version should come in at about $1.5 million. Of course, we’ll have to wait until 2014 to get the official numbers.

Competition

Pagani Huayra Roadster

By the time Pagani delivers the Huayra Roadster to the market, Lamborghini will also be ready with a roadster version for their latest Aventador super car (shown in the rendering above). Both super cars deliver about the same kind of rip-your-hair-out performance, but The Aventador’s 6.5-liter V12 engine with 700 HP at 8,250 rpm and 509 lb-ft at 5,500 rpm brings it down just a bit. Its 0-60 mph sprint comes in at "only" 3.3 seconds while top speed is expected to halt at 210 mph.

So the Pagani Huayra is definitely has more get up and go action that the Aventador, but the price tag is where these two vehicles are vastly different. The Aventador Coupe currently sits on a $400,000 price tag while the Huayra wipes $1.4 million out of your bank account. The roadster versions will carry similar effects. That’s the price of exclusivity.

I certainly agree on you. BTW, I find the speed performance of this car kind of impressive. And the aesthetic is way too cool! I want to have on of this!

Wow! Huayra Roadster is simply amazing! This one looks better compare to the Cabrio version of the Lamborghini Aventador!

Actually, the Huayra would be a bit more expensive than the Aventador. This is mainly due to the fact that there will be much less units produced for the Huayra.

If i have the money i will certainly buy this car. There’s a big difference between the price tag of Aventador and Huayra. Both cars have an impressive number and package. I bet this would be a tough competition.

So what’s next for the Huayra after they have released the roadster? Maybe they will finally do a hybrid version of the car, though that may seem a bit too far fetched.

Honestly, compare to their future lineup the Horacio Pagani that would be released on 2014. I think the latter looks much better. I don’t know how will I feel to the added weight on the car due to the hardtop roof. It actually decreases the speed of the car.

I am really liking what they did to the interior. The beige color for the upholstery really stands out and the center console just looks great.

But then again, if they don’t offer anything new here, it would really be a bad idea. Good thing that they seem to know that already.

These new renderings are making me even more excited for the car’s release. This is definitely going to be one heck of a competition between the Huayra and the Aventador.

Yeah, you’re right, we already knew that this one would be coming. But there is really something to seeing this one first hand that will really keep you excited.

OK, so why are we so excited with the roadster version again? I mean, we already expect that one to come up after the car was unveiled.

It seems that they have eliminate the gullwing and modified the car into a roadster. But well, the car still look awesome. And its a good thing that they retained the engine, I bet this car would have an outstanding performance.

Hmm, pretty neat take on the possible Huayra roadster. You’re right, they would probably be taking of those gullwing doors, but the car still looks good.

Well, that was fast, they just announced this a few weeks ago and you guys have already come out with a rendering. If that isn’t being excited, then I don’t know what it is.
