2014 Pagani Huayra Roadster

  Review

It wasn’t that long ago when Horacio Pagani confirmed that their latest Huayra supercar would indeed see a roadster version in about three years. And although this news doesn’t exactly surprise many of us who saw this car coming from a mile away, its potential look is something that can only be dreamed about. That is, unless you’re the impatient type and want to check out our rendering for a sneak peek at its design instead.

So, Pagani will slice and dice the roof off of their Huayra supercar and consequentially eliminate the gull wing doors, but little else will be changed at all. Expect the same carbon-titanium chassis, 700 HP twin-turbocharged engine, X-trac seven-speed sequential transmission, and all of the rest of the goodies that make the Huayra special. You can also expect slower performance times thanks to the added weight of the convertible roof, not that you would notice the difference as the wind barrels through your hair at high speeds.

UPDATE 04/01/2011: Check out our new renderings for the future Paganui Huayra Roadster!

Exterior and Interior

The Huayra Roadster will feature the same "wind" inspired design lines as the coupe. Remove the gullwing doors and the solid roof, then add a soft top, and there it is! The rest however will remain unchanged, albeit with a few updates here and there.

The interior of the supercar will be as luxurious as ever with the use of high-end leather, aluminum, and carbon fiber.

Engine

Like with the coupe version, the Huayra roadster will be powered by the same AMG sourced 6 liter V12 Bi-Turbo engine that delivers a total of 700 HP and 737 lbs-ft of torque. The only problem with this engine setup is that it will suffer due to the added weight of the convertible roof. The coupe sprints from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds, so the roadster version will probably come in a bit higher than that. The coupe’s top speed of 220 mph will also suffer.

Prices

The Pagani Huayra coupe is priced at about $1.4 million, so the roadster version should come in at about $1.5 million. Of course, we’ll have to wait until 2014 to get the official numbers.

Competition

By the time Pagani delivers the Huayra Roadster to the market, Lamborghini will also be ready with a roadster version for their latest Aventador super car (shown in the rendering above). Both super cars deliver about the same kind of rip-your-hair-out performance, but The Aventador’s 6.5-liter V12 engine with 700 HP at 8,250 rpm and 509 lb-ft at 5,500 rpm brings it down just a bit. Its 0-60 mph sprint comes in at "only" 3.3 seconds while top speed is expected to halt at 210 mph.

So the Pagani Huayra is definitely has more get up and go action that the Aventador, but the price tag is where these two vehicles are vastly different. The Aventador Coupe currently sits on a $400,000 price tag while the Huayra wipes $1.4 million out of your bank account. The roadster versions will carry similar effects. That’s the price of exclusivity.

2011 Pagani Huayra Coupe

- As impressive as the coupe version
- Powerful and fast
- Carbon fiber will remain a distinctive feature

Whoa! I love its white edition, so I’m anticipating more for that!

The specification of the car is very impressive that is why the price reaches 1.5 million dollars! I like the interior of the car. If I’m not mistaken it is a leather. Pagani is really good in creating super cars.

Yeah, I wasn’t surprised at all actually I’m expecting for this version and roadster version has been so beautiful. However, using the turbocharged engine makes this car boost its engine up to 700 hp but I think we also need to expect that it will cost a lot!

Aesthetically, this car really look so awesome and sporty.  The rear skirt makes the car sexier and head turner, If I have the money I would definitely buy one of this.
