We know a few reason why some people in the world shouldn’t be allowed to drive cars. And this poor Zonda is another reason. At its origins it was a silver car, but the owner decided to wrapped: in mate black with orange strips.
We do not like it, of course, but we have a good news: the wrap its just temporary and we really hope the owner will soon come to its senses.
The Pagani Zonda is, without question, one of the rare supercars that capture the imagination of both auto enthusiasts and mainstream fans from all over the world. That’s why a lot of us can’t seem to get enough of it, because when the Pagani Zonda is being watched or talked about, we all stand in attention.
This promo video of the Pagani Zonda R, which was made for the brand’s track-focused customers, and by all accounts, it’s as desirable and mouth-watering than it’s road-legal counterpart.
The video itself is pretty cool to watch; it begins with the Zonda R’s creation – you’ll see a lot of the bits and pieces that make the car, including the carbon titanium composite central monocoque – all the way to a rainy track test of two fully-built Zonda Rs. Even the accompanying music, which makes you feel like you’re watching the climax of an action-packed blockbuster movie, is so juice-pumping we wouldn’t surprised if you got goose bumps from it.
Check out the video and see the Pagani Zonda R in action and if there is a car that we can desire more than the Zonda R, it probably hasn’t been built yet.
Before the highly-anticipated Pagani C9 makes its debut in God-knows-when, the Italian supercar maker has decided to satiate our appetites once more with a very special edition Zonda that is set to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
Created as an homage to the Italian equivalent of the British Red Arrows Display team, known as the "Frecce Tricolori", the Pagani Zonda Tricolore, which pretty much based on a Zonda Cinque, is a special edition Zonda that is built from a special carbon-titanium weave left bare except for a clear blue lacquer coating.
In addition to that, the Zonda Tricolore also come with a unique set of LED running lights and an exclusive red, white, and green trim - signifying Italy, of course - that runs up from the nose of the car all the way up along the top of the car’s surface.
Now, if you’re curious to know just how rare this special edition car is, consider the fact that Pagani is building all but one model of it and, to top it off, it’s priced at a bank account-depleting 1.3 million euros, or in the language of the Benjamins - $1.75 million
We don’t know if the Pagani C9 is just a photogenic little supercar, but it seems to have taken quite a liking to being photographed before its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
We already saw the first set of spy photos of the C9 getting filled up with gas but while those pictures still left a lot to the imagination, this new set captures the new Pagani supercar up close and in the flesh, leaving no doubt that this most definitely is the C9.
What’s more, in addition to looking at as clear a set of photos as we can find, these spy shots also has photos of the car’s interior and, much to our delight, its Mercedes SLS AMG-inspired gullwing doors.
Despite being the successor of the Zonda, the Pagani C9 is expected to come with a smaller engine than that of its predecessor. The 7.3-liter AMG V12 engine of the Zonda won’t be found in the C9, but what you can expect is a still impressive 6.0-liter V12 twin-turbo engine. Besides, the supposedly modest engine of the C9 will be a lot lighter than that from the Zonda, which means that the total power output of little bro – somewhere in the neighborhood of 700 horsepower – will exceed that of the big brother.
The new Pagani C9 supercar was recently spotten doing some test runs in Upington, South Africa where the car was being put through a rigorous hot weather test – temperatures were taken at around 39°C (102°F) - near the Kalahari desert. By all indications, it seems to be getting its pistons running in time for its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
The C9 – not it’s official name, as we’ve been told – will be succeeding the highly-successful Zonda supercar and much like its predecessor, the C9 packs power and speed to the absolute brim. Powered by an AMG Mercedes 6.0-liter V12 bi-turbo engine that’s capable of producing in excess of 700 horsepower and over 1000Nm of torque, the supercar also comes with about 3,770 new parts including a carbon-titanium chassis, specially developed Pirelli tires, and Bosch electronics.
Needless to say, the C9 looks every bit as tasty as the Zonda supercar.
For a car brand that rarely makes a splash in the news these days, the unveiling of the C9 supercar has made Pagani one of the most highly-anticipated attractions at the Geneva Motor Show. And if the C9 can live up to the high expectations set forth by the Zonda, then you can bet that Pagani’s new supercar will attract more than its fair share of customers.
Horacio Pagani has revealed new details on the future generation Pagani supercar. According to him the new C9 will be launched towards the end of 2010 and will be "a completely new car from concept, weight distribution, materials and dynamics."
The future Pagani C9 will be powered by an AMG sourced 6.0-liter V12 engine with a total output of 700 hp and 1000 Nm of torque. The supercar will come with 3770 new parts, a carbon-titanium chassis, specially developed Pirelli tires, and Bosch electronics.
Production will be limited to 40 units a year. Price for the C9 will be in the $1,250,000 area.
When the Italian super car maker Pagani unveiled the special edition Zonda Cinque, the limited production carbon fiber dream machine was initially shown wearing white and black livery, however this orange example that we have just come across looks absolutely amazing. The Zonda Cinque is powered by a detuned version of the 7.3L V12 from Mercedes Benz that produces a maximum output of 678 HP and a peak 575 lb-ft of torque, mated to a Cima six speed sequential gearbox. The result is a highly coveted European exotic that can sprint from 0 to 60 MPH in just 3.4 seconds. Now we aren’t quite sure if this was just a high end re spray as requested by the customer or if Pagani is going to offer the orange color straight out of their catalog, but we really do like the matching rims.
People that have been going to the Bologna Motor Show in Italy are being treated to some kind of supercar-fest, haven’t they?
Days after catching a glimpse of Valentino Balboni burn rubber on-board his LP550-2 Balboni, a video of two other supercars – the Pagani Zonda R and the Prototype 2 – was captured doing a couple of laps on the very same track Balboni was on a few days ago.
While we’ve all seen glimpses of the Zonda R in action, this is the first time we’ve gotten a chance to look at the Prototype 2 – a car that Pagani is using to develop its new toy, the Cinque. Unfortunately, none of us could make the trip to Bologna, Italy for this extraordinary auto show so this video of the two cars roaring around the track would make do for us.
Nothing breaks our hearts more than seeing a $1 million dollar supercar get smashed into pieces. But that’s the reality we’re looking at after a Pagani Zonda F crashed in Hong Kong. The latest Zonda crash is the third one to befall the Zonda supercar with two of them coming in Hong Kong.
From what we’ve gathered, the driver of the Zonda F was on his way home from a track event when a wayward truck lost control and the Zonda, in a sweeping move to avoid the oncoming mass of steel, swerved and ended up torpedoing into a row of parked cars.
As you may know, there are only 106 Pagani Zondas in the world - only 25 of which are Zonda Fs – so each time we hear about another crash of this exotic beauty, its another punch in the gut for us supercar-lovers.
This is incredible video shows off a super car lineup that any automotive enthusiast would feel privilege to witness first hand, leading up to one of the most expensive sidewalk displays of all time. The list includes an Aston Martin, Ferrari 612, Ferrari 430, a trio of Mercedes SLR super cars, a Pagani Zonda, a Ferrari 360 and a gold Bentley Continental GT.
