Peugeot’s new SR1 hybrid roadster concept is scheduled to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, which is still in March, but as far as the French carmaker is concerned, a little pre-emptive teasing of the SR1 wouldn’t hurt anyone.
A few weeks after releasing the first batch of photos of the SR1 hybrid, Peugeot has followed that up with a promo video of the car, complete with laser lights, techno music, and a touch of digital effects here and there.
The SR1’s noticeably sleeker design – a stark change from what Peugeot is known for – is a testament to the brand’s attempt in streamlining a new and edgier direction for the company, which, as far as we’re concerned, is a welcome change for a car brand that hasn’t exactly wowed us with their car’s aesthetic designs.
As far as we’re concerned, the sexy SR1 hybrid roadster concept is definitely a step in the right direction.
The French automaker Peugeot willl unveil their SR1 Concept car at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Not only does the sleek SR1 wear the car builder’s new badge starring the king of the jungle, but it also shows the streamlined direction that Peugeot’s design department is going in with their future lineup.
The SR1’s body is characterized by a long swooping bonnet, flowing fenders and a chiseled rear end. Looking at the Peugeot SR1 Concept’s profile shows off the side styling lines that merge into the windows and windscreen, making the hood seem that much bolder. The shape is not only efficient but it also gives the car a very low center of gravity for optimal handling. This design gives the Peugeot’s presence a new kind of balance. Which is further emphasized with the power train that is made up of Peugeot’s latest HYbrid4 technology consisting of a 1.6 Liter THP gas burning lump that makes 218 HP up front combined with an electric motor developing an additional 95 HP at the rear.
