DISTANCE ALERTCoupled with the Head Up Display and using a special radar located at the front of the vehicle, the Distance Alert supplements existing driving assistance systems such as the cruise control/speed limiter. Its operating range is between 70 and 150 kph, and the inter-distance alarm has adjustable parameters (between 0.9 and 2.5 seconds according to national regulations). AUTOMATIC ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKEAvailable as standard on all engines, the electric parking brake makes possible the modern architecture and design of the fascia panel and enables the creation of an additional storage space of 13.5 litres inside the centre console. If the vehicle stops without the ignition being switched off, the electric control, located within hand’s reach of the driver, can be activated manually. Manual release requires the driver to apply the brake pedal. The automatic operation of the function can be de-activated via the vehicle’s confi guration menu (in particular for cold climates). HILL ASSISTAll 3008 versions come with Hill Assist, for greater convenience and safety. By remaining in permanent dialogue with the ESP, this function keeps the vehicle at a standstill DIRECTIONAL BI-XENON HEADLAMPSThese Xenon headlamps provide a bluish-white light with triple the power of a standard bulb, thereby improving night-time vision. They are coupled with an automatic headlamp levelling control and headlamp washers. The elliptical light module includes a shutter to control dipped beam and main beam functions. They also have a directional function which signifi cantly improves vision in corners. In addition, their operation is linked to vehicle speed between 5 kph and 160 kph to adapt to different conditions of use. This function gives the impression that the system can anticipate the next corner, making night-time driving not only more convenient but also safer. Note that in terms of lighting, all 3008 models have one lamp dedicated to daytime running lights which can be activated or de-activated in the vehicle’s confi guration menu. WIP… LATEST-GENERATION MULTIMEDIA EQUIPMENTThe WIP telematics range (standing for World In Peugeot) is available on the 3008 in several versions. WIP Sound and WIP PlugThe WIP Sound audio system includes an MP3 CD player and a Jack socket in the armrest for the connection of a digital walkman. It can be combined with the WIP Plug option allowing control and connectivity of any type of digital walkman via a USB connector also located in the armrest. The system includes six speakers:
In addition to its perfect integration in the vehicle in terms of style, functions (operation with controls under the steering wheel) and security, it offers numerous functions: a large 7’’ 16/9 display (resolution 480x234 pixels) with perspective view, european cartography stored on a 4GB SD card, leaving the CD player dedicated to WIP Com 3D: a top-of-the-range multimedia system (available from the autumn of 2009)Featuring the most advanced technologies, WIP Com 3D is positioned at the top of the range of multimedia systems offered by the Marque. This equipment meets the expectations of a demanding and modern customer base at ease with the world of high technology and in search of maximum connectivity. REAR OR FRONT/REAR PARK ASSISTOffering valuable assistance for parking manoeuvres and personal safety, the park assist system emits audible signals, via the central display and the speaker nearest the obstacle, that increases in frequency the closer the vehicle gets to the detected obstacle. The system is activated when reverse gear is engaged and for the front park assist at a speed of less than 10 kph.
10 comments: Peugeot 3008 Agreed. The interior of the car is not that great but I think with its awesome performance this one will sell like hotcakes. BTW, who said that American doesn’t want a diesel car?
I prefer a 2 liter fuel engine for this car! However, I agree that based on the picture this car would be identical to Honda Civic not really luxurious type!
Can’t you give a summary guys? Eight pages is kind of sleepy to read. IMO, there’s nothing spectacular on this car especially on the interior. However, its a good thing that they have offered a two engine option for this car.
well, i think it a crossover that clearly has a minivan side of concept.
its just okay, since the exterior is awesome. But i think the front and the rear where kind of over design.
Did you know that the Peugeot 3008 model offers a perfectly FL at floor from the lower tailgate hobby to the fascia panel.
If I would buy a car solely on the look of the interior, this car would be my choice. Too bad I don’t, and the design of the exterior is hideous on this one. But at least they have dropped the gigantic mouth theme, and it still looks miles better than the disastrous 4007.
Hmm. Quite what a comment about Ford brakes is doing in the Peugeot section, I struggle to comprehend. But despite a lot of negativity surrounding the looks of the 3008, I personally find it quirky and pleasing to look at. Horses for courses, I suppose. I remember the nonsense in the press when Ford broke away from tradition, when they introduced the Sierra. Now every man and his dog has a sweeping bonnet line. it’s strange to me- as well as Ford is executing pretty much everywhere, they can’t seem to get brake performance nailed down. Almost every review of a Ford vehicle has at least some gripes about the brakes, be it fade, or feel, or whatever.
Poor old Peugeot - they used to have some beautiful cars with tight surfaces; now they look bloated, ugly, and have no sense of direction. their current design director should be ashamed.
