When you mention the name ’Peugeot’ the first things that come to your mind are numbers like 207, 307, 407 - none of which can be described as ’off-road’ vehicles. In as much as Lexus was synonymous with the ’supercar before the LF-A came along, Peugeot is not one of those brands you associate with images of a pick-up. But just like Lexus, that doesn’t mean that the French automaker won’t think outside the box, which is precisely what they did when they revealed to the Brazilian market, the Hoggar - the company’s first pick-up. The Hoggar is based on the 207 platform and offers a a load volume of 1,151 liters and a payload of up to 742kg. It will go on sale on the 15th May, with three trim levels and two engine sizes: a 1.4-liter engine and a similar 1.6 liter variant. Press release after the jump. Press release Hoggar demonstrates Peugeot’s ambition for internationalisation and confirms the acceleration of the Marque’s strategy.Designed in Brazil for the Brazilian market, this pick-up is perfectly adapted to the local clientele’s expectations. It allows Peugeot to endorse and expand its status and links as a local manufacturer. With HOGGAR, Peugeot brings a touch of seduction and emotion to the world of Pick-ups. The name HOGGAR, taken from a Peugeot concept car, evokes a world which combines strength, durability and action. HOGGAR, the pick-up by Peugeot, seductive, dynamic and robust targets a mainly male customer base who are looking for a versatile vehicle with a distinctive style. 7 comments: Peugeot Hoggar Wow! what a nice picked up the car! I’m so impressed with the angst of its front design most especially on its headlights. I also have to agree that the name itself is really suited to its aggressive appearance.
The paraphernalia are appropriate to the exterior design, and it looks so arrogant. Subtly combines the robustness and reliability of a pick-up with the design and dynamism that distinguishes this Peugeot from the competition.
The French automaker really build a cool and great cars, and the only modifications to the cars are the removal of unnecessary equipment like audio systems and the addition of race safety equipment like roll cages, fire suppression, upgraded brakes and a rear wing. I almost think that this cars are the kings of the road.
This truck is so cool, at first look it doesn’t look like a truck it’s more on a Van or a sports car.
Nice form. Hoggar is quite diffrent from other pick ups. And its not more likely as other Puegot. I mean sport and luxury cars are Puegot’s specialties.
