It seems that Peugeot has caught itself a little SUV concept bug over the past few months. If you recall, the French automaker unveiled the HR1 last September at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. Now it looks like they’ve got another concept SUV in the works, one that’s scheduled to debut at the Shanghai Motor Show later this month. Called the SXC Concept, the hybrid crossover concept is being touted as a China-exclusive model, which is probably the reason why it’s debuting at the Shanghai Motor Show. Details are still minimal at this point, but it looks like the SXC Concept was created using the same styling cues and language found in a number of Peugeot’s other concepts, specifically the HR1. From what we’ve gathered, it looks like the SXC will measure 4.870 x 2.035 x 1.610 meters, big dimensions for a crossover. On top of that, there have been spy photos of the car that features a ’floating’ grille, sharp headlights similar to the HR1, boomerang-style taillights, and rounded off by a set of 22" wide alloy wheels As for the powertrain, the car is being touted as having a 1.6-liter THP engine that produces 218 horsepower with an electric motor that adds another 95 horsepower for a total of 313 horsepower. All these details are still subject to speculation until the car is officially unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long for that to happen. .
12 comments: Peugeot SXC Concept I’m impressed with its unique detailing. This concept was oozing with angst and aggressiveness which I find gives so much appeal to it. Anyway, I’m quite curious on what will be the interior of this looks like.
 Peugeot SXC Concept a very hybrid crossover car totally impressive and. Very aggressive exterior and black alloy wheel. Good for big boss.
 Well, the front actually looks cool to me. It really blends in well with that of the whole car’s design. Plus the engine that the have included here seems also good.
 Probably the only thing that I am not really sure about this car is the front. It is not really all that bad, but I wished they could have worked on that one a bit more.
 Well, we will just have to wait and see how good this SXC Concept would really be. I must say that even though it does look good on paper, it would be better to see it for real.
 Hmm, the car really looks pretty well balanced to me. This is certainly one of the SUV’ that I am going to like, simply because it is well designed and very functional at the same time.
 Well, the size of this car is going to be one of its big plus factors. And I really find the propulsion that they are planning to use for it. That one actually delivers a lot of power for a hybrid system.
 Well, since this one is still just a concept vehicle, we still won’t know how this one would actually perform. But if it becomes a success, then they would likely expand their sales to countries other than China.
 Wow, for a company that hasn’t released a lot of SUV’s, Peugeot really looks like a pro with this one. Too bad that this one is just going to be a China exclusive model.
