2013 Peugeot 2008

In the automotive industry - as in many other aspects of life - size is everything. Of course, that was until "the larger the better" mantra got sideswiped by the efficiency beast. Now, automakers everywhere are sticking their nose up at the larger than life models and switching to "compact SUVs" to boost their sales. Peugeot is just one of these automakers clamoring to get ahold of the market with their new Peugeot 2008.

Peugeot’s new 2008 model will be built on the Mitsubishi ASX platform and will continue the successful co-operation that started with the Outlander based 4007 (and Citroen C-Crosser). Power is expected to come from a 1.6 liter HDI engine and will be delivered to two wheels or all four wheels depending on the model chosen. There will also be a 1.6 liter VTI petrol engine delivering about 120 horsepower for those opting out of a diesel engine.

The new Peugeot 2008 will be unveiled at a major show in 2012 - most likely at the Paris Auto Show - and will compete against models like the Skoda Yeti and Nissan Juke.
